A pleasant time filler
Liked meeting Stella, Chris,Gabe and Helena at Roseford Hall owned by Simon Treloar even thoughhe had to have a trust to help him with all the work that had to be done to his place. Stella meets Chris first not a good first meeting as he shouted at her and Fitz Stella's dog. Helena made a better first impression who happens to be Chris's mother-in -law. Gabe is Chris's son who goes to boarding school but comes home weekends and likes Fitz. Stella is to write about Roseford and run workshops. Chris is the owner of Halstead House and is working on it himself his wife passed away and he has gone in on himself and wont let anyone help although Helena keeps an eye on them. Chris and Stella's budding romance was part of the story and all works well in the end. Liked this book an easy read will reread it look forward to the next in the series

A great book!
It was lovely reading this book and the locality used as it’s backdrop. The Quantock Hills are especially dear to me as I lived about 4 miles from them in a small hamlet, so it felt like reading about home. Loved the characters and how their love blossomed despite loss and cross wires. Look forward to reading more from this author.

Brilliantly written love story
I loved this book - for many reasons - too many to mention here. Fay seems to get to the real heart of her characters and you will find you can’t put it down. I’m hoping it’s part of a long series, there’s so much more to tell.

Average in every sense
It is predictable and lacking inventiveness. A reluctant page turner that lacks anything like an effective conclusion that resolves the turgid emotions of a crude plot

Beginnings at Roseford Hall
I loved this book. Great background, a beautiful stately home and a Victorian house, one renovated and the other needing restoration. Main characters are likeable, even Chris in his bad moods. Story is moving, but takes its time to reach a suitable ending. Looking forward to reading more books in the series.

Fay Keenan's book, "New Beginnings at Roseford Hall", has a wonderful storyline that you will want to read in one sitting!!!

swearing and poor terminology
Story seemed ok, but I only red about a quarter of it. Too flowery and introspective. Sad that the author finds the need to swear unnecessarily, spoiling a book that might have been worth reading.

Really enjoyed this book, it has all important parts to it to make you feel like you are watching a movie. I was definitely transcended to that state!
