I'll start off by saying that I really dig Gears of War. The first game was what got me into gaming, really. So my views are going to have a tendency to be biased in favor of the series. That said, I'll try to be objective.This comic is volume number 2 in the series, so if you haven't read the first one yet, go check that one out first. This comic is just like the Gears of War games. Dark, violent, and dreadful. That is, full of dread, not bad. Just to be clear. The thing that I really like about these comics is that they are expertly drawn. The writing is good too, but the art is on another level. Fantastic. And, that's about it; if you like dark, violent, dread-filled stories about soldiers killing (and being killed by) monsters, or if you like Gears, then I'd recommend these.

I love a graphic novel, I love Gears of War so this was a must have for me. Fantastic artwork, very fun and interesting stories that expands the Gears universe in ways I was not expecting as well as introducing some memorable new characters. There isnt much I can say without spoiling the plots and stuff but if you love Gears of War then this and the previous Graphic novel are a must have.

I'm a massive fan of Gears of War and was always fascinated by the world and its people places and events rather than the game play itself. This Graphic novel has some great stories, without giving away to much the book gets pretty dark (not recommended for young children), they go into Tai's origins as a Gear as well as the use of females for breeding new soldiers. The book also introduces some new characters including my favourite Gear Alex Brand. Overall the book is a great read for any Gears fan, it's beautifly illustrated, it's dark, it's violent and most importantly it leaves you wanting more.
