Alfalfa Management Guide (ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Books)

I bought a farm that was already planted in 15 acres of alfalfa, and quickly had to learn about this important crop. The stand was healthy and tilling it under wasn't an option! I appreciated the photo illustrations in this book and the simple, direct information it provided. The section on insect pests was particularly helpful, as it helped me avoid spending $$$ on unnecessary pesticide treatments--in other words, it helped me pick my battles. We harvested 3 good cuts. An excellent value.

This book was purchased based on recommendation. My husband found it very informational to those wanting to meet soil requirements and other pertinent information to grow a successful alfalfa crop.

This thin booklet gives good info about growing alfalfa, but you will need more. It concentrates on Wisconsin and Minnesota so it does not directly apply to me in the Northern Great Basin. I still found it useful.

I use this book all the time and would buy again thanks, it was at a great deal too ..
