Vanicream Facial Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30; 2.5 Fl. Oz.

Good for very sensitive skin. I'm still searching for my hg tinted mineral sunscreen. Updated review: Upgraded to 5 stars! Since my first time trying this when it first came out, and after much sunscreen trial and error since then, this is still my favorite untinted mineral sunscreen. I've purchased it three times now. I can't tolerate "chemical" SPF. Even a popular Korean 'chemical SPF' product I used gave me irritation, sensitivity, and breakouts on my face, and hives rash on my chest and neck. Not this! This is the mildest and most trusted sunscreen I have. Cast: Yes, this is a white mineral sunscreen and has somewhat moderate cast as one would expect. The cast is not as strong as some. I can't imagine an effective mineral sunscreen having less cast that this without added tint, though. Application: I find this is easy to use. Much easier than other untinted mineral sunscreens. meaning I don't have to rub as hard to get this to fad into my skin. Also I don't find it streaky. Sensitive skin: Yes! I have very very sensitive skin, and this is now my go-to SPF when I have a flare up. If I really need a tinted option, I'll use Aveeno, but this when I just need no frills protection and hydration. Post-Procedure-Yes! When I get laser treatments for rosacea or some other treatment, the doc approved this one, even when the normal instructions are "nothing on your skin today". Effectiveness: Yes! This works. I was inspired to come back and give this updated review after spending time outdoors in the sun yesterday. The next day, I noticed burning, itching, redness and irritation (sunburn) on half of my neck and chest, only on the areas I had missed application with this sunscreen. The areas where I used it were protected. Finish and look: Honestly, when I'm using this, I'm not likely looking in the mirror much. It feels hydrating and comfortable to me. I'd guess that some people might find it heavy. Use: I like to use this to protect my neck and chest, on areas that might come into contact with clothes, or where I don't want to use my most expensive tinted sunscreen, Also great for post-procedure, and inflamed skin. I hope Vanicream will keep making this!!

I love this sunscreen moisturizer and am on my third tube now. I use it almost every day during the sunny months. It goes on smoothly and has nice slip. There is a very faint white cast to it, but it is so faint it does not matter to me. I have very sensitive skin and have had some dermatological problems, and this is a product that does not irritate me at all! I also often put makeup over it and it looks great and goes on top smoothly. I also use it on my body as it goes on so well and feels good. My derm recommended this brand in general and this is one of their many products that I use faithfully now. My skin has never been in better shape.

I’ve only been using this moisturizer with zinc oxide (sun protection) for a couple of weeks, and so far it’s great. Glides on smoothly, unlike thick sunscreens that can get blotchy, and it absorbs quickly. My skin feels very soft and fine lines disappear, so I know the moisturizer is working. I’ve had problems with the drying effects of sunscreen in the past. No discernible scent, which is a plus. It does leave a faint whitish cast that disappears after a minute or two, and my skin tone looks even. The very faint “glow” or hint of zinc oxide reduces some of the redder spots on my sensitive skin, so I am able to use this alone as foundation. Makes it easy to reapply every two hours to continue the sun protection. It’s important to remember that no sunscreen product lasts all day—always follow the directions and reapply to keep sun protection active. I really like the safety rating this cream received from EWG—this is rare for sun protection products. It’s not perfect, but since I have to moisturize and use sunscreen, this product gives me all that without added worry about health and safety concerns. I live in the Pacific Northwest and we haven’t had many full-sun days since I started using it, but so far the sunscreen factor seems to be working. Because this product glides on so easily I am able to avoid areas of missed coverage. I will update this review when I’ve tested it in the summer, but I expect that I’ll need a full sunscreen if I’m spending all day outside. Reading other reviews, I’m concerned to see that people use this as both day and nighttime moisturizer. Zinc oxide is one of the safer sunscreen options, but give your skin and overall health a break by using this only during the day (even on cloudy days). Wash your face in the evening and apply a non-zinc moisturizer overnight. I think Vanicream makes one if you like the way this product feels.

Used it this morning for the first time. So far I like it. Feels very gentle on my skin, did not irritate my skin in anyway. I have very sensitive, reactive skin. So I'm really glad I found this facial moisturizer with spf. Spf moisturizer is very important to me. I use the Vanicream vitamin C serum and their facial cleanser. I listened to a dermatologist and she recommended the brand Vanicream for sensitive skin people. So far I have loved their products. I have the regular daily face moisturizer arriving today so I can't wait to give that one a try too. One thing I will say about this spf moisturizer, do NOT use if you have oily skin. This product is very moisturizing so it is perfect for someone with dry skin. A little goes a long way. Not pasty at all. When I first put it on I could feel the oily substance but it immediately absorbs into your skin. I've had it on for 2 hours now and it's completely settle in my skin and I can't feel any residue what's so ever. Not sticky at all.

I have to use mineral sunscreen but struggle with them. Between the white cast they tend to leave and how they seem to always always always pill up under makeup its been frustrating. This one is the best I've used so far. The white cast is minimal and easily blends away. I get zero pilling under foundation or skin tint. My skin is sensitive/acne prone and this does not irritate or break me out. Because there is no added fragrance (which is a huge plus as fragrance in skincare frequently causes skin irritation for me) that zinc-y mineral smell is more noticeable with this sunscreen over others I've used. It's not overpowering but if you're sensitive to that smell this might not be for you. Affordable, appropriate for sensitive skin with no added frills or scents, and does the job. I will repurchase.

This product is not what I had hoped it would be. I was looking for a moisturizer that contains sunscreen, and I chose Vanicream because I read good things on a safe-cosmetics website about it being nontoxic and safe. My former moisturizer with sunscreen (different brand) was discontinued, so I was looking for a new moisturizer. However, when I bought and applied Vanicream, it felt like putting on sunscreen -- thick, greasy, sticky, and not easily absorbed into my skin. My old moisturizer absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling soft. This product makes me feel sticky and also makes my makeup pill up. It seems fine as a sunscreen but does not provide what I'm looking for in a moisturizer.

Wonderful sun protection for sensitive skin and also works well as a moisturizer for a terrific price and I love that it's made with clean ingredients. ln the morning I wash my face, apply my serum then Vanicream spf and I'm done for the day. And it's one of the only products I can rub under my eyes and eyelids without burning and irritating my eyes.

I really like this moisturizer with sunscreen. I only use it when I know I am going to be working outside. I found it through using the Yuka food and cosmetic scanner. It checks the ingredients for any product you want to scan. This is the cream that was recommended. It received an excellent rating as a low risk product, which is very important to me. The texture is medium thick and creamy. It absorbs well and protects my skin nicely. It doesn't have a greasy feel either. I will definitely buy it again. Plus, it doesn't cost a lot of money. That is a bonus! I have very sensitive skin and have had no issues with this product. I am very thankful to have found it.
