Davis Anemometer f/Vantage Pro2 & Vantage Pro®

Replacement parts for my Davis Vantage Pro 2. Installed 4 years ago and stills works fine

It's expensive, but it is built well and holds up to extremely strong winds and is accurate if installation instructions are followed correctly. One recommendation to be aware of though....secure the extra cable that is not used with nylon ties. Fix it in place so the wind will not blow it back and forth creating stress. As the YEARS go by, and UV light causes the cable sheath to become progressively more brittle, if the extra cable is not coiled up and secured, stronger wind, blowing it back and forth, will snap it in half.

This is a replacement for my 25 year old Davis weather vantage station, you may pay more for a Davis station but in the long run your way money ahead !Quality durable and reliable with normal mantance can't be beat .

I didn't hook our anemometer/vane to any electronic device, because I don't care how manymiles per hour it is blowing--a pocket anemometer can do that. From our dining room I can seewhich way the wind is blowing, and the spinning cups tell me if it is blowing "a lot" or "just a tinybit". It is a beautifully constructed device that looks stunning on our deck, was very easy to assembleand a pleasure to peruse every time I walk past.

Noticed this winter that our anemometer was struggling to provide wind speeds so I ordered a replacement once the weather improved. This is our third anemometer in 17 years of operation. First lasted 10 years. Second lasted 7 years. Upon inspection, I probably didn't need to order this one. The old one was kinda gummed up and I think I could have cleaned it with alcohol and got it working again. However, changing out is an ordeal as the pole is 20-something feet high so if I'm going through the hassle, I might as well replace it. I think Davis does a great job for the length of time I've owned the product. I've replaced the rain gauge and the solar cover as well.

My 15 year old anemometer was not reporting direction consistently so I finally decided to replace it.Davis Instruments parts are a bit pricey but they seem to me to be superior to the competitors.I've tried 3 other of the big brands over the years, none survived more than 3 years.So yeah, I coughed up the $$ and am staying with Davis.

This is our 4th replacement since every 4-5 years either the direction or speed fails. Unfortunately, between the coost of the anemometer and the labor to replace it, the cost has risen to the point where it may make sense to replace the whole system with a Tempest to eliminate the mechanical components.

I have one a Davis weather station for 6 years. The only reason I had to replace the anemometer was due to a direct lightning strike. Burned up the electrical parts in the old one and fried the ISS transmitter. Replacement anemometer is the same great quality. I like that Davis has designed this version of anemometer with a replaceable bearing cartridge. So instead of having to replace the entire anemometer if the bearing goes bad, you just switch the cartridge out and you are back in business for around 20 bucks. If you want great quality weather data, Davis is a sound choice.

I have had a Davis anemometer with my Davis weather station for over 12 years but it finally died. The new one is made to the high standards of Davis products. It was easy to swap the old with the new.

Ideal fuer eine Eigenbau-Wetterstation z.B. auf Arduino-Basis. Gelb = 5V, Gruen = Analog (Windrichtung), Schwarz = Digital (Windrichtung, 1 Kontakt/s = 1 m/s), Rot = GND.

Good value, quick delivery with tracking, works well, replacement for old anemometer which has been repaired twice.
