The 300 series have been known for condensation issues that affect perfomance over time, until cleaned. Has anyone found this to be a problem?

I have 3 plastic alto recorders. All 3 appear to have different size windways in the tip of the mouthpiece. The size of the windway opening appears to affect the volume and time you can play the recorder without condensation being an issue. From smallest to largest size of windway opening are Yamaha YRA-402B, Yamaha YRA-302Bii and Aulos 709BW. This recorder (Yamaha YRA-402B) tends to clog the quickest and have the lowest sound volume. On the other hand, it is the easiest to hit the highest notes (due to fast air speed due to the narrow windway opening). The Yamaha YRA-302Bii plays slightly longer than the 402B before clogging, but is more difficult to hit the highest note. My favorite plastic alto recorder is the Aulos 709BW. I use this recorder exclusively in performance. It never clogs. It has the largest windway and therefore the greatest volume. It has a more reedy sound and blends better with the church choir.

I'm looking for an alto with more comfortable distance between the lower holes than my Zen-on. What is the spacing of this?

I have never played a Zen-on so cannot compare the two. i have tiny hands (span 18 cm) and a good deal of arthritis, and only manage reaching the bottom hole on the 402B with a great deal of overlap of my ring finger. the centre of the ring and little finger holes are 3 cm apart when the joint is fully closed.

Does this come with case and cleaning rod as pictured?

Mine came with a green canvas zippered case, recorder joint cream, a cleaning rod and a fingering chart.

Flauta de material orgánico vs flauta de plástico

Wonderful alto

This Yamaha alto eco dear surpassed my expectations. I've some wooden altos so I can compare. The high notes in the ecodear are easy to hit and the sound is sweet. The low F is easy to get with a dark and mellow tone. Beautiful indeed for the price.

Fingering chart is for soprano not alto recorder

I would love to give this a 5 star and for me it is but for someone who has never played recorder it would be a minus 1…WHY the fingering chart is for a soprano recorder, this is an alto recorder. I play soprano and recognized within a couple of minutes the errors. Also all the instructions are in I guess Chinese so a non player would not be aware. Unless someone plays soprano recorder they are going to learn all the wrong fingerings. How awful that would be when they wanted to play with others. If the chart were for the correct key I would definitely give a 5+. Hope this is a one time error.Addendum, further checking shows fingering chart for both soprano and alto recorder on the sheet, however unless you can read Chinese you would not know which one to use….still giving 1 star
