The cover is flexible plastic material, like school notebook or binder material. Seems very durable and comes with an elastic band to hold the cover closed. I chose white because I am considering putting cool vinyl stickers for my son. I am collecting baby photos of him, taken with Instax mini film, over the span of his first year. I would definitely purchase again in another color.

It is perfect for the InstaMax photos and holds a lot. The only downside is the cover is a little flimsy. So if you are looking for something sturdier, I would look elsewhere. But overall it is a good album.
