Dog yes cat no
Got this for my polydactyl cats prints and it was always a solid blob. Did my pitbulls and it turned out ok. Probably would have turned out better on the dog if I hadn't wasted most of the ink trying for my cats

Works
I got them for my animal's prints, it's not complicated to use but it did not come with instructions. Using animals weight gave best results. Ink pads are good for no more than maybe 3 uses. Did not care for all the packaging but that's a personal preference.

The ink is very heavy!
I used this to get my dog’s paw print for a birthday card. This was the first time I thought of trying to find something like this. I used to take my dog’s paw & actually put it on an ink pad first, and then onto the paper/card. That was a mess obviously. Then I saw these were being used for babies & thought it would be perfect for my dog’s paw. Note that the ink is much heavier than I expected! I didn’t need to press my dog’s paw down anywhere near as firmly as I did. It transferred a lot of ink onto the card, and, even after leaving it sitting out for several days in the air to try & dry the ink, the ink does not dry 100%. I put my finger on it & black ink did come off of my finger. So I am disappointed that the ink doesn’t dry 100%. I don’t know if I had had a lighter touch when putting my dog’s paw on the pad if that would have made a difference or not? However, this is 100% better & easier than using an actual ink pad.

Results
It might have been a user error, but it is pretty difficult to get clear results when used for dog paw prints. I'm sure it will be easier with a different subject, but most of my prints with my dog came out as a large black blob or incomplete paw print rather than a clean image.

Kind of blobby
I got this to add our dog’s paw print to our Christmas cards (do it once the copy/paste into a photo) but it was kind of hard to get the hang of. There’s no instructions in the box but there was a note on the ink pad directing which side to use.I liked that you don’t actually have to touch ink to use it (exposed ink is placed on paper and you press on the other side) so no mess and easy in that sense, but the first blot came our blobby, and later uses on the same pad came out a little more discernible of a paw print, but patchy since the ink pad is meant to be single use.I got a usable print out of using it so that’s why I’m giving it 3 stars, but I would consider using a normal type of ink pad. The mess may be worth the hassle.

I like that it's not messy
Non messy. Great for babies and pets. Wish I could get my dogs to stand still doing it.

Tough for bigger dogs
Got this to make paw prints of my husky mixes, but they are big dogs and this did not work for them. Better for small dogs/cats

SO CUTE
Used this for my cats because Im obsessed with them and am always looking for new ways to channel how cute and sweet they are. I agree with other reviews which say that a gentle pressure is the best. I got good results with just carrying my little one and then slowly bringing them down on the paper, allowing one quick step and picking him up immediately. So glad I bought these!!
