Awesome book!
I enjoy learning about anything concerning ancient Eygpt. It was a deep read as most of theses kinds of books are!

Excellent Reading
I first read this book as a sixteen year-old boy, a family friend gave it to my parents, who never read it. I read anything as a kid, but I was a kid - it didn't take back then. Decades later, I came back to it after reading many of the modern books on the Law of Attraction and self-empowerment, but this book, for me, is the granddaddy of them all. Especially for those who might resent things like "The Secret" (which I liked) due to it's seeming lack of regard for God, feeling that because the others leave God out of the equation, that the words are somehow "flying in the face of God":The Secret of the Ages incorporates spirituality (the Bible), and helps us to understand that in Christianity at least, we were taught the "secret" by Jesus Himself. In other words, it corroborates the whole concept of the Law of Attraction relative to God and the incredible power that we, as part of His Creation, were given if, we could grasp the true meaning of faith. A difficult thing to do in the context of being part of a society that is, for a lack of a better term, judgmental. This was the book that Rhonda Byrne (The Secret) first read, which was given to her by her daughter. All of the modern-day motivational speakers and teachers make reference to many of the old books, but do not necessarily promote them, for obvious reasons.I highly recommend The Secret of the Ages for those who wish to tie spirituality in with the Law of Attraction, Robert Collier, had a way of making the reader feel how much he wants us to "get it", it is knowledge, enlightenment, and wisdom doled out as an impassioned plea for us to understand how truly gifted all of us really are, and if you let it all sink in, you will grow from the experience. And do not let the fact that it's nearly one-hundred years old dissuade you, because it is from another period, it's not as focused on just "getting a bunch of stuff", it's more than that, and it proves that though we've come a long way from a technological standpoint, we haven't grown much as humans in our quest for happiness and security. Read it, it's well worth the investment.

Beware of poor production work on this particluar edition
First off, let me say the "content" of this book deserves a 5 star rating. I won't rate this aspect of the book since so many other reviewers have covered the content in such a fine way.It was very difficult for me to give this book anything less than 5 stars, but felt it necessary to warn others of the poor re-production of this particular edition. It is in Public Domain, therefore, any publisher can re-produce without paying royalties. It's a great price at $5.99, but in this instance I think you get what you pay for. The typesetting is probably 8-9 points (a good 1/3 smaller than standard) and the 'leading' (the space between the lines) is much too tight as well. For most people (even with excellent reading eyesight) this alone will eventually cause eyestrain. For those of us who already require a little help with reading glasses, it is quite difficult to read - for any length of time anyway. The focus and concentration required to read this edition takes away from its wonderful content.PS: While I fully embrace the wisdom of Robert collier, here's just a side-note about about what another reviewer mentioned as a warning regarding his philosophy on health and healing. He died of cancer at age 65. His belief, along with Mary Baker Eddy, that illness can not survive if you deny its existence (greatly simplified here) didn't work for him - and it didn't work for Wallace Wattles (another noteworthy writer from the New Thought Movement of the early 20th century who died an untimely death). perhaps this is because this basic belief fails to address what may have caused the disease in the first place. Therefore, denying only the disease, does not deny the possible wrong thinking that may have brought it about. In the case of disease, it may be better to focus on changing wrong thinking patterns, along with a focus on drawing the proper health care across your path (doctors, nutritionists, books, etc... all of which played a roll in eradicating cancer when I had it).Hope this review helps. Thanks for taking the time to read it.

I believe in miracles
I believe in miracles. Jesus did not sow wheat and not kneaded bread, or caught the fish, when he fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and five fish. This is my comment to the review of Mr Carpenter about Collier's book. Mr Carpenter dont believe in miracles; he believes his work. According to his faith, so it is with him. Mr Carpenter views are in contradiction with Robert Collier's sayings. In Matthew 21:22, we read: " if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."For many years, I asked myself: believe in what? In God?Recently, the answer comes: JUST BELIEVE. Belief is enough! Belief is the miracle, the magic, the secret. The object of belief DOES NOT MATTER!When we learn a technique to healing, to attract, to be rich, to cocreate, it is not the technique that matters: IT IS OUR BELIEF in the technique! When those authors speak about "energy", " frequency" , they are speaking about belief. Because belief is FEELING and feeling is frequency, energy. If I praise, I feel good, grateful - and what is this good feeling but belief!?So, if I BELIEVE, I will receive WHATEVER I ask for, because belief itself gives me it!The implications of this are limitless. Mr Cameron beileves is faith + work that works. And he is right, only because that is his belief. We humans believe old age is a fact. And it is. Of course Peter had to jump from the boat to be able to walk on water. But what decided him to jump? Faith.Belief is the miracle! Not the belief in this or that, but the very belief! And how could we have belief? We already have tons of beliefs! When I say " I believe in miracles", what I'm saying is " to believe is the miracle!"

Law of Attraction - that's what it's about
If you're looking for something to uplift you and give you that inner direction this is a book you want to read. If you believe in manifesting and in the law of attraction you'll enjoy this book. If you're a fan of Les Brown, this a book he recommended reading. This book hit home in so many ways for me. It helps you realise the power within you, thr potential that you have. It's worth the read!

Demystified World
I want to thank all who have written great reviews about this book. I bought it because of the positive comments and thought would give it a go. Little did I realise that 'the most wonderful thing that can happen to anyone on earth has happened to me'..quoting a sentense from the book. I have noticed visiable mental attitude change in myself. I am a more confident and happier person and when I feel down I would read some paragraphs in this book and its powerful message gives me strength to face any challenges in life. Thank you Robert Collier.

Inspiring & Helpful
This is one of the best books I have ever read. If you are unsure whether the law of attraction really works and if your mind is really powerful this will clear your doubts and make you believe that you can achieve anything you want.
