Ranger 12MM 1/2" Stainless Steel Rope Tube Thimble with Gusset for 3/8" or 1/2" Wire or Synthetic Winch Rope by Ultranger Diameter of (Pack of 2)

I added this to my winch line wanting a crush proof version. This one, or two, is a nice upgrade from what came on my line. It looks great and seems sturdy. I paired it with a Factor 55 Ultrahook and the end result looks great.I have several Ranger products and have been very happy with all of them.

My husband said these thimbles were good quality and worked exactly as intended.

It wouldn't fit one 1/2" rope I had, but it fit another 1/2 inch rope I had. So was it the rope or the thimble? All items, both ropes and the thimbles were purchased advertised as 1/2". I didn't get a micrometer out to figure it out, but be aware it may not fit your quality 1/2" rope. Because it fit my one so called 1/2" rope I simply ordered a pair of 5/8" thimbles for the other 1/2" rope.The other reason I gave it a 4 was I had to remove some very slight burrs on the inside edge of the thimbles, no big deal but I'm a perfectionist and could envision my rope getting cut over time by the burr. The burr probably wouldn't be noticeable by most people, but I looked for it and found it.Other than those two items these are quality built thimbles.

Was able to fix my winch rope to have an extra 60ft.

Purchased a replacement fiber line for a winch, and installed this on the end of it, so I have a 100' recovery rope with a strong thimble on the end. Does a great job!

The quality and smoothness of the surface is excellent.Unfortunately for me, '12MM 1/2" ' appears to mean exactly 12mm, which is a bit under 1/2 inch.

Worked well when splicing up a tow rope

Good for 3/8 fiber/nylon. Tight for 1/2 fiber/nylon though probably good for 1/2 cable.

Worked great. Spliced it into my winch line easily. Delivered very quickly.

For made one extension winch rope to my winch i have buy a 100 feets dynéma rope and i install this thumble to my new splice loop.

The welds and powder coating look really good, the only issue is there are sharp burrs on the inside edges of the tube, this will definitely cut any synthetic rope. If you purchase these, be sure to file or die grind the burrs out.Photo to show where the burr was. check both ends.
