Nikon D5600 For Dummies (For Dummies (Lifestyle)) Paperback – Illustrated, May 1, 2017

When I bought my D5600 I needed all the help I could get, being a novice and all. When I got this book I couldn't put it down. It is so well written with clear pictures and precise descriptions that it made learning about my camera such a breeze. I reference back to this book quite a bit. It's like my camera bible.

I already knew my Nikon D80 inside and out having been using it for the past 10 years. The Nikon D5600 has a ton of cool additional features and this D5600 for Dummies was perfect for me (an advanced user very familiar already with Nikon) and would be perfect for a beginner as well. I was very impressed by how much I learned and I was able to go through the entire book in a day and now it is a GREAT reference for when I forget something. This is WAY better than the Nikon user guide and way better than the Lantern guide I purchased separately for my Nikon D80 (they don't make one for the D5600, but even if they did, I'd recommed this guide for dummies.

The book is not only a comprehensive guide to the specific camera but also to photography. Chapters follow a logical sequence in building up to more specialized topics. Technical terms are explained in simple terms with appropriate illustrations. It fully meets my needs which is simply how to get the best out of the Nikon D5600 camera, but also how to take more creative photos ,well beyond the aim and click approach.

I'm a relative novice at photography but am headed to Egypt and want to capture my trip in photos. The conditions are going to be challenging, ranging from museums where flash is not allowed to bright desert scenes. My point and shoot camera is just not up to the job. I purchased a D5600 which I thoroughly enjoy, but it is daunting to learn. This book was the best investment I've made. It is so well written, organized and annotated that I was able to pick it up and absorb it in digestible chunks. I also use it as a reference whenever I'm stumped.
