Great surface finish!
I bought the regular one ( Not the coated/gold colored inserts ) and so far its been working pretty well. Plywood I get some burning, but that's just user error mostly I'm sure. I use these on a CNC Router, as it was the largest diameter I could find, that has a 1/4" shank. I did 1mm depth-of-cut at 1000mm/min with 20mm stepover. The tool hauled through it with no problems. Did a 0.5mm cleanup pass and as seen in the picture posted with my review, the 8" diameter circle looks so clean you can hardly see any marks left from the tool. No sanding or work done to the surface after using it. Very happy with the quality of that surface finish!

Runs smooth, cut clean.
I’ve run this tool on both walnut and mdf. It gives a very smooth finish on the walnut and made dust out of the mdf shavings leaving a clean, flat surface. It your router is square it is almost impossible to see the tool path. Excellent value for the price.

impressive
great cutterlove the helical heads, easy to get fresh blade, but they last a long time so this bit has serious life, unless u flatten big slabs every daygreat cutting action, be sure your jig is stable, as it wont cut any better than your jig..great for cnc so table is on the same plane as the gantryquality is sooo impressive at this price point....recommended....

super smooth cut
I was using this bit to face off some zebra wood, which can be hard to work with because of the pronounced grain. When this bit had sharp inserts installed, it would make super smooth cuts. The finish was about as smooth as you would get after sanding with 600 grit sandpaper. When needed it was pretty easy to change inserts. The only issue was when some wood chips got caught in front of the horizontal cutting edges, which kept them from cutting cleanly. Just look at the bit occasionaly to make sure it is staying clean

This bit cuts
This bit cuts. First usage I was impressed with the finished bottom and side cut. Superb clean and no sanding needed. On two inch thick, 16" wide by 56" long slab of oak.It will cut.

Good quality bit, cuts very well, but slightly imbalanced
The bit cuts really well and evenly. In fact, surfaces I have faced using this bit barely need any sanding afterwards. Very impressed! The bit is every so slightly imbalanced, however, you only notice this by the resonant noise that it makes when spinning. Remember to keep your rpms low for this bit and ensure its fully tight in the collet!!

High quality cuts
I read the reviews before ordering this bit. Some of the negative ones seemed to be silly based on my previous experience with SpeTool bits. I had a large oak slab (42 X 24 X 2) that needed to be flattened on my Longmill CNC. This but tore through it like a hot knife through butter at 4200 mm feed rate. Super smooth.Flattened epoxy as well with no issues whatsoever.
