This little thing saved me on set - Will need multiple of them!
Ok so I work on sets a lot - shooting with multiple cameras at once - and if you've ever tried to sync footage from different cams in post you know how much of a headache that is. This thing straight up fixed that problem for me. It's tiny. Like embarrassingly small for how much it does. I threw it in my bag and honestly forgot it was there until I needed it - and then it saved me. The GoPro compatibility was the big one for me. Most timecode gear doesn't play nice with action cams and I was not expecting this to work as smooth as it did. Used it on a multi-cam shoot and everything lined up perfectly in the edit. No more syncing by clap or guessing. App is easy too - you do have to download it but it's not one of those apps that makes you want to throw your phone. Took maybe 5 minutes to set up and I was good to go. If you shoot with more than one camera and you're not using something like this, you're making your life harder than it needs to be. Wish I grabbed it sooner.

Great All-Around Timecode Generator
Though it doesn't have a screen, the accompanying app makes this full-featured timecode generator very easy to use. It comes with the cables needed to access your camera's sound input. It is also capable of acting as a slave or master, so you can buy several of these and control all your devices that need to be synced. One distinct advantage this unit has over other brands it also makes it possible to sync timecode on a GoPro using the GoPro Labs operating system. I would recommend this because of its pro features and ease of use.

Can’t live without it
Must have, keeps footage and audio synchronized across your entire production. It’s simple to use and just works.

"Like a Glove!"
I love this thing, well put together. Worth every penny, the software is amazing. Saves so much time back in the editing booth. I highly recommend.

You can sync many cameras and sound recorders with this device.
I needed to contact the OEM to get the software license to use the Tentacle E Mk II. It works well for me.

used
I discovered when registering the Tentacle that it was previously owned. It still works, but wished the description was more forthcoming with its history.

Good - but
It works fine but there is a gripe I have. First let me just be clear that you do not need to buy multiple units for multiple cameras even though the manual wants you to believe that. Plug it in, it syncs, unplug and move on. Any decent camera with TC input will hold sync. Now in my case I used it for a Mocap job, so it had to sync also via BT to several phones. That’s where the dilemma starts. It can only link to one phone. One needs a separate unit for each phone. That’s annoying and unnecessary. The obvious explanation for this is that it’s designed to make people buy more. Sadly that’s what I had to do. Once we had several units they worked fine.
