Is there any way to adjust focus better?

This tool has nothing to do with focus. It's for aligning the laser to the center of the mirrors. There are different machines with different ways to focus the beam. The machine can have auto focus or manual focus. Manual machines should have documentation and a spacer to measure the distance between the lens and the material. If you don't have that, run a ramp test to find the optimal focal distance. YouTube has videos on that.

Why does it not work on 40watt ?

Since the laser head for 40 watt machine is different from others, and the diameter of this alignment tool will not fit for a K40 laser

What is the threading and diameter of the threaded portion? I’d like to use a female to female coupler for my laser.
