Life-Changing
Reading this book was, in short, life-changing. There's so much psychology involved with money and Feinstein Gerstley gives her readers grace in handling their finances without fluff, using practical steps to educate her readers. Reading this book has given me so much confidence in making responsible financial decisions. I now understand the importance of advocacy and negotiation for myself and all women across the board. I'm also able to value myself in ways that I didn't previously, and this has affected my confidence in every single area of my life. I will say that it's not enough just to buy and read this book; the magic is in completing the exercises and actually making financial changes. This book was thoroughly educational and written in a light, and at times, humorous, tone that was easy to understand and relate to. I'm so grateful to have this newfound financial wisdom and will be revisiting it for years to come! 5 stars!!!

Good walkthrough
This is a good mostly high-level walkthrough of everything you need to consider regarding your finances.I like that it focuses so much on the disparities that women, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and people with disabilities face. I learned about a few things I should consider looking into like getting disability insurance.A couple of things I didn't like- There are a lot of times where it says to go see the Financial Adulting toolkit. If it's to go see a tool or one of the spreadsheets, I get that, but sometimes it's just to see a more detailed explanation of the current topic. Why couldn't that be included in the book? Isn't that the point of me buying the book?- Terrible use of commas or lack thereof. There are so many sentences that needed a comma. A few had commas but didn't need them. It made reading confusing at times.

Enjoyable and empowering
I’m about halfway through the book and really grateful already to have been introduced to Ashley’s writings by a friend. What I love about this book and Ashley’s style is her ability to mix important lessons with great humor and joy so you leave feeling empowered and excited for the future – not easy for a personal finance book! She tackles very timely topics like some of the driving forces behind our growing income inequality and I think succeeds in creating a non-judgmental space for people, regardless of where they might be in their financial journey. She is intentional in her desire to speak to a diverse audience which I appreciate. I’ve grown up with old school ways of thinking about wealth accumulation and am enjoying hearing a more inclusive perspective. Kudos to Ashley for taking on these often tough topics and being brave enough to expand in the discussion.

A breakdown of a confusing topic in simplified information for beginners!
I give this book 5 stars without any doubt!I am a 27 year old who can’t seem to get a grip on my finances. I was set up to fail by my mother who stole my identity and ruined my credit. I was trying to get my financials down pact with 0 knowledge. This book has taught me so much about what it takes to be be successful at “financial adulting”. This book empowers woman to be successful and also quotes many successful woman. There’s a brief history on how woman have been discriminated as well as other ethnicities. If you are a beginner to getting your finances in check or need a refresher I recommend this book. Ashley writes in a mellow tone where it is teaching as well as being laid back to enjoy all of the new information being read.

The finance book we all need
This is the book I've been looking for. With this book Ashley taps into a reality that is true for potentially more people than we realize. Sure, we go to school, maybe if we're lucky graduate from college, but nowhere in my 22 years of education did I learn these basic fundamentals of finance in a simple and approachable way. No one explained IRAs and 401Ks to me or the value and ease of investing ... or even what a High Yield Savings account is. In this book, Ashley lays out all the basics of finances to help you go from knowing nothing to having a strong foundational knowledge in how to manage your personal finances and invest in the future.

Easy to understand financial advice and equality history
Ashley put together an easy to read guide to personal finances that recognizes the privilege in the system that puts us all at a different starting place. A push for transparency in equity and how to vote for values we hold politically and as consumers is a very refreshing addition to this book that transcends all sections. In addition, Ashley has the most straight forward way of defining common investment lingo and insurance options I have come across yet, especially within ESG investments and life insurance. I cannot wait to keep revisiting chapters and expanding my growth and budgets during my money parties; personal check ins where you see how you are doing and expand or change your goals.

Love It!
I have been following this Fiscal Femme for a few years now (it’s the only weekly email newsletter I actually read haha) and it has really inspired me to take more control and interest in my finances while *also* feeling better about money in general. I love the tone of her writing, it’s warm and comforting and gentle—and with the anxiety most of us have about money that’s the kind of voice that’s needed. Ashley is so knowledgeable and this book is full of good advice I wish I had known years ago. I also just generally believe in what she’s doing and her whole message. Recommended.
