Great Sunflower Seeds!
After reading so many different reviews I was nervous about ordering seeds online, but I went ahead and ordered these because the price was reasonable and I figured it wouldn't be a terrible loss if things didn't work out. They came in a heavy duty resealable bag and when I opened it, I was happy and relieved to smell FRESH seeds. Yay!!! I purposely ordered the seeds without oil because I was worried about receiving nuts that were rancid, but I don't really like plain sunflower seeds though so I had to get to work roasting them. I froze half of them and put the rest into two large baggies, one to roast now and one to roast next week.I put a tablespoon of coconut oil in a large frying pan, added just enough seeds to cover the bottom of the pan and stirred them for about 5 minutes on medium high heat. You'll hear them start to pop when they're almost ready. (After you hear that first pop, stir, stir, stir. You have about 2 minutes until they're done.) Then I sprinkled them with garlic powder, dill seasoning, and salt to taste. Now we're talking!!! I'll snack on these all week and next week I'll make another batch using cajun seasoning. You can find recipes online or just use your imagination.

Do not buy
Dry and old. They look and taste like they have been kept in a moldy storage building for years. I do not recommend

Fresh, cheap and tasty
I am a raw sunflower seed fiend, but buying them locally is expensive, and frequently the store runs out for days. I've bought in bulk online, and have had mixed results; several times I've gotten bad batches with bitter or rotten seeds mixed in. The sunflower seeds here have been consistently better and cheaper than either buying local or elsewhere online.eta: The price pretty much doubled since I posted my review, so it is no longer cost effective to buy these sunflower seeds; the last batch also had a few of the bitter seeds. I'm looking for a different brand of bulk seeds to buy. Honestly, I have trouble with 'gourmet' prices for seeds that primarily get sold in 50# bags for bird food.

Once roasted, these are very flavorful and crunchy!
You can roast sunflower kernels in a dry skillet over medium heat. Be sure to stir frequently so they don’t scorch. Another option is the microwave. Just put them in for a minute at a time until they start to smell good and toasty. Please note that microwaved sunflower kernels will become crunchy as they cool. I use sunflower kernels in my signature granola recipe, in cookies, on salads, and as a garnish on grain bowls, and just for snacking. This is a healthy, satisfying snack. Kids love these crunchy treats, and so do adults. Highly recommended for healthy snacking!

Great for roasting, topping salads and making seed butter
A 5 pound bucket of Sun Butter cost $42 from Amazon which in itself is a pretty good deal. However, if you have a commercial quality blender you can make your own seed butter for about 40% less. One never knows how long the premade buckets of Sun Butter have been sitting on the shelf but when you make your own, you know. That’s why I bought this 5 pound bag of sunflower seeds and I’m going to make my own. I will make it as I need it so it will always be fresh.

Terrible
These seeds are tasteless and chewy rather than crunchy, and appear to be stale. I've eaten loads of raw sunflower seeds in my life, and I've never had any like these... and that most definitely is not a compliment. On the positive side, the seeds are reasonably priced; I got used to the lack of taste and crunch after a couple of weeks; and the ziplock seal on the bag works just fine. These are the reasons I gave the product one star for freshness, one star for flavor, five stars for packaging, and three stars overall.I doubt I will buy them again, and I honestly can't recommend them.UPDATE 6/7/2021: I just started buying the old sunflower seeds I used to eat, and what a difference... I had forgotten how good fresh sunflower seeds are. The raw seeds I'm eating now are crunchy and flavorful, a complete contrast to the chewy, stale, bland Sincerely Nuts sunflower seeds. Not only that, the ones I'm eating now are less expensive than the Sincerely Nuts seeds.I just changed my review from 3 stars to 1 star, and I will definitely never buy these again.

Rancid, bitter taste
These seeds do not taste fresh. They almost taste as though they are rancid, although the expiration date is Feb. 2021. I have read reviews on both ends of the spectrum for these sunflower seeds, some saying that the seeds are great and taste very fresh, others saying that they taste old and stale, just like mine. I think quality control is in order here. Also, they came in an enormous bag. It was only about 1/4 full.I can't recommend these, unfortunately.

Extremely Fresh & Great Value!
I love buying these for myself and my dogs..:) I buy the large 5 lbs bag so to reduce plastic wastage and that also gives me more value for my money. I am beyond happy to say that despite the fact that it takes time to finish huge 5 lbs bag, the seeds have maintained their freshness and we are still eating them after a whole year worth plus some!I will be back to buy again from this company and will again buy bulk for both the environment and money saving reasons. Totally recommend! Go for it! I and the dogs, we all are vegans and these seeds are a great source of protein, omegas, etc! Love them! Thank you for such a great product.
