Why do they shut off unexpectedly ?

I'm guessing you have a power issue, maybe too much, maybe too little. I have 2 of these and they have never let me down even once. This is also the model that many performing arts centers use for their monitors. Bars, wineries, all over the place. Maybe yours has some kind of electrical issue. Sorry, I really love mine.
