Can't beat the price :) It works reasonably well with an electric violin (note, not experience with acoustic one) and the comb mute is way better than individual string ones. It attaches easily and sits well. The downside is that (I guess) there is only so much muting you can do with an electric violin, but for what it's worth, this mute does bring the volume down. Also, if positioned well, it does soften the tone a bit, which is quite appreciated in electric violin. Overall, solid 4.5 stars (mold used to manufacture these seems to be getting old and imprecise in some places).

Works well! Really mutes the sounds

The mutes work as they are supposed to. Two things one needs to know are: 1. the rubber stinks. If you do not mind the rubber odor then you are fine. 2. The rubber is not soft. When you put them on your bridge or your strings, be a little careful not to break your strings. Once you are used to putting them in then they are good. They are not too loud and not too soft. The loudness is acceptable. Good value for the money.

essential for practice at home. The bridge mount is the only thing I use, the string mounts do not seem to do much for me. Just slap the thing on and your instrument will be more quiet, and less shrill. I am awful and a beginner, I don't need anyone to hear this!

Regarding the violin mute I used, it effectively dampened the sound, creating a softer tone. Easy to attach and remove, it didn't affect the tuning. Overall, a useful accessory for practicing without disturbing others.

Violin mute came on time and was a good price. Two in the order so I gave one set to a friend.

These are VIOLA mutes and not violin mutes. Luckily my daughter's conductor had extra violin mutes and was needing viola mutes so he swapped it out.
