Great way to get vitamin c
Can add this to whatever liquid and it gets into your system quickly. Especially nice if you have trouble swallowing large tablets.

Non acidic formula
This is great for people looking for a non-acidic form of Vitamin C.If your gums are bleeding, you may well need Vitamin C to fix the problem. Bleeding gums are often caused by a Vitamin C deficiency. Because the powder is not acidic, it can be massaged into the gums and allowed to dissolve in the mouth. This allows for better absorption by the gums, stopping bleeding quickly. The taste is not great, but worth putting up with for the benefits.

Good source of non-acidic Vitamin C
Calcium Ascorbate is a good source of non-acidic Vitamin C. The nurse panicked when I told her I took Calcium Ascorbate, when I was in hospital recovering from surgery, but when I told her I took about an eighth of a teaspoon, she relaxed. 1/8 teaspoon dissolved in water and drunk seems about right when I feel an incipient sore throat coming on, which I take as a sign I need some Vitamin C.I started taking it decades ago when I was looking for non-acidic Vitamin C. Helped me quit smoking without much trouble.

Used this for years and years
Lacking any parathyroid glands this has kept me alive. I am very picky about which calcium I use!!

Good product
I plan to use this product directly on my teeth to reverse receding gums. I am editing this post 10 28 2016. I try a lot of different supplements, all the time, for different health problems. I tried this one for a while but got tired of applying it to my teeth and then I forgot about it. But my latest discovery is ionic boron mineral liquid which supposedly helps also receding gums. I just ordered it after reading about all the different symptoms of boron deficiency, which I have. So now I have a new hope to deal with this particular problem, the receding gums, a very irritating problem b/c it is so ugly! Taking a tsp of boron liquid twice a day will no doubt be easier than applying the calcium paste to my teeth. I am not saying the calcium doesn't work, I just didn't try for long enough. The boron may work faster, it supposedly helps arthritis sufferer in just a few weeks, to get rid of their pain, so it is obviously fast acting. I like fast, easy and convenient!

magnesium ascorbate + calcium ascorbate stopped life-long muscle cramps, good way to get vitamin C
If supplementing magnesium or calcium, it can be important to supplement both. These 2 alkali metals supposedly compete with each other in the body. I believe this, as supplementing with only the magnesium did not fix my life-long muscle cramps, but supplementing with both did. This could also mean that I was short on calcium rather than magnesium, but I felt slightly better when I began with magnesium. Ascorbic acid is said to absorb fast through the stomach lining, while ascorbate does not, it must go through the small intestine lining, so it is slower and longer in the blood, as ascorbic acid is said to have a short half life in the blood.

A must for winter
Working with kindergarteners and frequent airline travel exposes leaves me vulnerable during cold and flu season. This powdered C dissolves easily in my water bottle and is tasteless, I have yet to come down with anything this season.
