So-So Sound (You Get What You Pay For)
I bought these 5.1 speakers as an upgrade for my old 2.1 Cambridge Soundworks PCWorks speakers. However, I am disappointed with the sound quality. Compared to the PCWorks, the P5800's trebles aren't as bright, the bass isn't as strong, and the volume in general isn't as loud at the maximum. True, the P5800 has 6 speakers vs. the PCWorks' 3, and it has convenient features such as a headphone jack that the PCWorks lacks. But, to me, sound quality is what it's all about when it comes to speakers. (...) I'm returning them and waiting until I can afford a better 5.1 set.

Great sound, great value!
I bought these speakers to replace my old 4Q Sound Image Jr 2.1 speakers. So far, I am very impressed with these. The 4Q speakers had a little higher wattage in the satellites, but it was only a 2.1 system. This 5.1 system is definitely an improvement, overall. The high end isn't quite as crisp as my old speakers, but it is definitely adequate. The bass is awesome! I like the remote feature, and the whole system is attractive looking. I mainly use the speakers on my computer for listening to music. I am very glad that I got these. They really make the SRS effects on WMP10 sound great. They sound awesome on Winamp too. I just have the sound card that came with my motherboard (DFI Lanparty). They could have made the cords a little longer for the surround speakers, but overall, there is VERY little that I can complain about with these. For the money, I couldn't find anything out there that could match the specs and features on the Inspire P5800s. I can crank these up in the computer room, and go out in the living room and enjoy my music. I couldn't do that with my old speakers. Very happy with these so far!-a little bit later...- Found one complaint: They expose the inadequacies of MP3s @ 128kbps. If you mess with the equalizer a bit, it takes care of it and still sounds excellent. They even sound better with ogg vorbis files! Still love 'em!!!

For music only 2 of them works. For DVD its great.
Nice sound. Looks good. Great bass.I have connected it with my Creative Audigy ZS sound card. When I watch DVD, all 5 speakers work and sound is great for a under 100$ speaker set. I am not a gamer, so I dont care about gaming sound (tried it with NFS Most Wanted BE. I was blown away). But when I listen to mp3 or any other music file, only front 2 satellite speakers work. Is there any way to make all of them work like my home theater used to do [was connected to my pc/DAP with a 1/8 to RCA, "Y" cable]?Edited: July 28, 2007Dumb me!! If you are having trouble to make all 5 speakers work, go to Creative EAX Console and enable CMSS 3D. :p

Hmm... not too sure what to say about these anymore
I'm listening to music coming out of these speakers as I type this product review and I have to admit, at first, I loved them. They sound great and for the price, I don't you can find a better deal. So they worked great for a while that is until the volume started to fluctuate on its own. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes it goes down, its very annoying. I've looked into this problem and nobody seems to really know what it is. Also, according to Creative, its not the volume control but the speakers themselves and therefore they would need to be replaced. I don't remember how long ago I purchased them but according to some, its happened only after a few months. If it wasn't for this problem, I would have keep them until they could no longer make any noise but I guess that won't be the case... *sigh*

Great Sound!!
I bought this as a gift for my teenage son and upon hooking it up immediately wanted it for myself. This set up is LOUD and will plug into anything with your standard headphone / earbud cable. Compared to other surround sound set ups, this is better than most!! I have 6X9's in my ceiling in the living room and these are just as loud! Just saying!

Whole new way to work and play!
I've purchased several computer sound systems in the past but they where all 2.1 systems. This is my first 5.1 surround sound system for a computer and I have to say I am very pleased. I did some research and read reviews for other products and this system promised the most bang for your buck. I have to agree. It's no Bose but then again I didn't have to break the bank for it either. Experience your computer in the "round". You'll be glad that you did!
