A useful and dependable microwave. This is the third one we have bought over the years, the last one in 2019. They last about 6 years and that's with a lot of daily use. I have noticed the latest version is a tiny bit smaller on the outside and a little quieter. It's nice to see that Emerson has continued to improve an older product. The price is still great too. This microwave does everything a basic microwave should do and does it well. I think it punches a little above its weight and is a real bargain. They have added a child safety lock, but we don't have children, so we haven't tried it. We use it mostly for sides, frozen dinners, and leftovers. Be aware that, being a smallish model, it will not fit the largest of plates. It will cook an individual frozen entree in 6 or 7 minutes, a bowl of instant oatmeal in 2, and at 700 watts you shouldn't have to worry about tripping a circuit breaker. It comes with the usual rotating platter that can be removed for cleaning. The basic controls are easy to use, 1 - 6 minutes just by pressing the corresponding number and also has a thirty second setting when you only press start. It's a good machine.

I recently downsized to a much smaller home. My kitchen has very limited counter space so I wanted a microwave that wouldn’t take up too much room. I can honestly say this microwave works better than the large one I left behind. I was afraid it would take longer to cook everything but it actually cooks faster! It melted half a stick of butter in 20 seconds. I was expecting to have to do several 20 second times but the butter was almost completely melted in the 20 seconds and it was hot enough to finish melting without needing to be nuked again. This microwave looks nice, is easy to clean and works very well. I recommend!

It is smaller than what I had but getting use to it. Doesn’t heat up items like my other one but it was larger. For just me this one works just fine. For a larger family this would not be wise. But like it and the safety lock feature is great. I also like when the beep goes off that after a few seconds later another beeper lets you know that you still have something in the microwave. This helps me out as sometimes I forget. Would recommend to those wanting to down size.

I bought this microwave for my office and it’s been great. It’s small, but mighty - I’ve made several different meals in it without any issues. Everything heats evenly, just a little slower than a full-size microwave, which is expected. The tallest thing I can fit inside is an Uncle Ben’s 90-second rice bag. I usually add about 30 extra seconds to whatever time the package recommends, but that’s not a problem - I can be patient 😄 The price has been well worth the added value of having this convenience for the past few months!

I purchased this microwave for my son as a house warming gift and it lasted less than a month. It shorted out and never turned back on. It was really dangerous. Because, he was waiting for the house to close thet wouldn't allow me to return it... Really disappointed that I didn't get a refund or response from the manufacturer.

My previous microwave went kaput after we had a lovely 9 year run together. I wasn't looking to spend too much on a new one, I really only use microwaves for maybe 5 things. I really wanted a red one to match my kitchen color theme, but those were all pretty pricey. Stumbled across this little guy and was intrigued. My old microwave was bigger, and took up a decent amount of counter space. I don't know much about watts and all that electrical mumbo-jumbo, all I knew was that my old microwave was 900 watts (honestly something I didn't even know until it died on me) and this was 700. This unit is definitely smaller, but I think that's a plus. Also, the plate and rotating round thingy inside my old one fits perfectly in the new one, so now I have a backup! The power level of this unit doesn't seem any different from the other one, honestly. At most, I've had to microwave something 15-30 seconds longer than before. Definitely a fan of this microwave, I love the durability and quality of Emerson brands, and I am sure it will last just as long as my previous one.
