Lightinginside Smart E12 LED Bulbs 60W Work with Alexa/Google Home, 4PCS

UPDATE: The company reached out and sent me newer updated bulbs to try to see if I noticed a difference and I instantly did. For one, the connection process is why easier and I've never had any issues with the bulbs since switching to the updated ones. From the company doing this, I have changed my review rating to a 5 for excellent customer service that actually solved the problem. I've had these bulbs over a year, and when they are connected and working they are great. The issues are they aren't always connected. For some reason my bulbs will disconnect even though they are basically in the same room as the router (almost),and when they disconnect they can't be reconnected for over a week or so. Then I've had one bulb that has just refused to work again since going out and disconnecting. It won't even turn on. But as I said in the title, when they're working, they're everything I wanted in my bulbs. They pair well with my Google Home setup and automatically turn off and on with my in ground lights.

I've used these for a year and 2 months. They do a good job and interface well with Google assistant if you set up Google home or with the smartlife app. I have them set up to turn on and off through verbal inputs to Google assistant on my samsung watch, which makes using them very easy. Range of colors is good and there's a good amount of customizing you can do. I have mine set to turn on at 7 to wake me up for work. Only issue is that, if the power goes out, you sometimes have to turn them on and off a few times to get them to resend to the router. I'm leaving this review because I had a great interaction with this company's support team, which i find sometimes is even more important than the product itself. Recently, a power outage caused one to no longer get into pairing mode or sync with the router. It started to just shine a bright light and get hot as you left it plugged in (no fire or danger, just couldn't get it to respond to the router). I contacted support. Someone immediately answered the phone (no stupid answering service or twenty menus to go through). They were extremely friendly; there was no interrogation at all. They said this product has a 2 year warranty and they would send me a new bulb. They collected my order number and the replacement bulb is on the way. I was very pleased. This is how a company's support should be. I highly recommend using this company's products. I will be buying from them again.

UPDATE: After writing my original review, I turned off the time schedule for each bulb only to find each light on the following morning. These bulbs' programming are seriously buggy. My Kasa smart bulbs are much more reliable and follow their set schedule as specified. Additional Update: I've been using these bulbs for well over a year now and they have become more reliable. In addition, the problem I originally experienced was immediately addressed by the company. They were kind, communicative, and provided ample detail to walk me through the issue ensuring its resolution. I've had little to no issues with these bulbs since. Highly recommend. These lights were a bit of a hassle to set up. They would connect to the Internet and then disconnect themselves and more often than not, I'd have to remove the device from the app completely and start the connection process over again from scratch. They finally seem to be staying connected but now they're randomly turning on all by themselves. Wtf, creepy!!! I set up a schedule for the lights to turn on and off at certain times throughout the week. Well, apparently these lights have a mind of their own. Schedule be damned!! For example, I randomly awoke at 2AM this morning to find several of my smart, candlestick bulbs on. So, naturally I looked at the schedule to ensure they were programmed correctly and *gasp* they were. Not OK!! Thus prompting me to write this review. I know they turned off when they were scheduled to go off because I watched this happen so they're just randomly turning back on. This strange phenomenon has occurred more than once as witnessed by one of my other house dwellers as well. In summation, none of the bulbs I have installed correctly follow the schedule or plan that I have set up for them. So time wasted on that front making the bulb at least 50% useless since, for me, having a schedule was half the reason - if not most of the reason - why I purchased "smart" lights to begin with.

These lights are nice and work as advertised. I like the many color options, and the app allows you to group multiple bulbs into a "group", which you can then name as "Chandelier" for instance, if you have several of these bulbs in one fixture as I do. Then you can control all bulbs in that "group" at once. Or, you can control each bulb individually should you have them in different spots. That flexibility is very nice. The only reason I've given them 4 stars instead of 5 is the Music and Scene options are rather repetitive and super basic. There are LOTS of different Scenes in the app, but many of them are simply slight, nearly indiscernible differences from others. For instance they simply change colors when using different Scenes or Music, that's it. There's no actual glowing or flickering, as in bright/dim movement, when on Music or Scene modes, the colors simply change faster to other colors and in different rhythms. It's like twinkling Christmas lights in that regard. I really wanted a glowing flickering effect, like candles, in one of my chandeliers. Unfortunately I cannot get that with this brand. Govee brand has that, so if you want the candlelight effect, look elsewhere. If that doesn't matter to you, these work great and are less expensive than Govee. They do have many different color adjustment and bright/dim adjustments if flickering is not important to you.

two years into owning these, I have finally given up. We got them to use them in frequently-used light fixtures so we could set them up to automatically turn on and off while we're away, among other things. The reality is that these bulbs are worse than useless if they are in an outlet that is switched on and off by a switch. Powering them on and off like this inevitably leads them to "unpair" and generally fall into a state where they've forgotten they're attached to your wifi and controlled by an app. Guess what happens when the bulb is in this state?... It flashes rapidly on and off until it is re-paired with your wifi. Not exactly what you want when you're away from home! ha! Into the trash these go. I've tried everything to rectify the problem, but nothing works.

These multifunction bulbs work very well in my bedroom ceiling fan to provide dimming and smart switching capability. They've been running for about 15 months now without any issues, no disconnects or headaches. I'm happy I found these as they're a bargain compared to how expensive the name brand smart bulbs are. Bulbs are super duper bright - I typically run all four at 10% brightness for day to day lighting. Two bulbs off and two bulbs at 5% keeps the room softly lit. I've got these scheduled to turn on in the morning to help me wake up, then they turn off after I've left for work, and turn back on again as I'm on my way home for the evening. It's very convenient once configured.

Setting these Lightinginside E12 smart bulbs up was honestly super easy. Connecting them to the SmartLife app and my Alexa hub took less than a minute per bulb, including installation. Everything paired quickly and worked right away without any issues. The problem started with the way the bulbs work with a regular wall switch. If you turn the lights off using Alexa or the app, you can’t turn them back on from the wall switch anymore. You have to open the app or use Alexa to turn them back on first before the physical switch works again. I’m used to using TP-Link Kasa smart bulbs (they don’t make this particular bulb), and they don’t have this issue at all. With those, the wall switch still works normally no matter how the light was turned off. This became really annoying in everyday use, especially for other people in the house who just want to use the switch normally. The setup and smart features were great, but this issue was a dealbreaker for me and I ended up returning them.

I've tried 2 or 3 different brands of smart bulbs. These ones were installed and recognized by Alexa. Hoping that they don't mess up.
