A Little SPOT Makes Friends: A Story About Friendship (Inspire to Create A Better You!)

This is a great add in for my elementary social skills group. After nearly 2 years in Covid pandemic quarantines, kids are struggling a lot with connecting, making friends, and social play due to quarantine. I have seen this a lot in the Kindergrateners and 1st graders. Story format helps give them tips with good visual illustrations to connect/understand easily.

Don't be fooled--this cute little book is packed with tons of great information about making friends and keeping them. Even tips to avoid being bossy! I'm an elementary school counselor and this week's 2nd grade lessons revolved around Little Spots. They are a favorite! Each book surprises me with the quality guidance for children and thrills us all with the level of charm and whimsy. I love the conversation bubbles among the characters and they give great concrete, usable examples. You and your children will LOVE this book!

I am a fan of Diane Alber's books. Not only are the illustrations great, the lessons are wonderful. I was looking for a book on how to make friends for one of my children and this one is a great option.

I love all of the Little Spot books but I think this one is one of the best! It has a lot of helpful ideas for kids wanting to make new friends and great advice on how to be a great friend too! Very helpful for the start of school and the usual nerves that come with it!

Diane Alber's Little Spot books are a staple in my school counseling lessons. I have been waiting for one about making friends to read with my Littles and it it safe to say they LOVED it. Diane Alber AGAIN does an AMAZING job! Love this story with reasons and ideas and suggestions about how to make and keep friends! Definitely a story that I will keep as a go-to for my counseling lessons!!!

Somehow, Diane always knows exactly what our family needs! I read this to my 5 and 3 year old and they loved it. There are some really great concepts that address some of the lessons I've struggled finding a way to teach my kids. We look forward to reading many many more Spot books to come!
