Solid bar and good price
I read all the reviews about bad packaging and was a tad worried about it, but I couldn't get a different bar anywhere during the Covid-19 pandemic so I took the chance. The packaging was top notch. You can see the bar laid across two pieces of wood. it was also wrapped in plastic which I removed for this photo. The bar is oiled from top to to bottom and there isn't a ding to be found on it.Only negative is the length of the loading pegs. You can see here I have 1 bumper plate and 2 45's and a collar on it. Even with all small plates you won't go above 495 with this bar and that may be without collars. But for most intermediates and people that just want to get stronger this is a damn good bar. Glad I bought it.

Not sure how I could ask for much more
Researched a long time comparing hex bars. There are some that are the same product rebranded as well as some appearing to be fully unique to the brand of the bar. I read too many negative reviews on a popular one and even passed on another at the last minute, before finally deciding on this Sunny one. I felt while some were 45 pounds, and others 52.. it made sense to want the heavier one as that indicates to me (at least upfront) that there is more steel in the product.I was worried about this bar having any combination of shipping damage, bad welds, bad finish, or being out of whack in terms of how symmetrical everything is welded up. I felt it was less likely with Sunny based off the reviews but still just paranoid about it because of how some other bars are. I was really surprised, that even it somehow literally shipped in just a covering of the thinnest clear plastic; no box, no padding or foam.. just the bar with essentially a bag over it.. it somehow was flawless. There was essentially no shipping damage. The welds are all about perfect, knurling has a couple little flat spots but they are well away from where you grip and are on both handles equally. This finish is as good as you could want and everything is perfectly true, as it's clearly carefully welded in some sort of jig.Overall extremely happy with the bar, maybe lucky with shipping.. but anyways it is what it is and glad I went with this over all of the other, possibly more popular bars on Amazon.

Love it!
This is my first time using a hex bar and I love it! I have had 2 lumbar disc replaced in 2017 and then right sciatic decompression surgery in 2018. I have some permanent spine nerve root damage and still have sciatic pain about 10% of the time. All that to say, I do not like the 'feel' of deadlifting with a straight bar, too much pressure on my low back. While I want to strengthen my low back, I still want to keep it safe. I've been doing RDLs with kettlebells to protect my low back but that gets expensive. I did my first workout with the hex bar yesterday and it was awesome. I did RDLs, squats, and rows with he hex. Was going to do a farmers carry with it but I was worn out. The quality of this bar is awesome. I'm a 5'4" 115 lbs woman, so the slightly closer grip works for me. I still consider myself a beginner weight lifter since I couldn't do much for 5 years with my back injury and surgeries. Now I have room to get stronger. Please get a pair of collars for safety if don't already have some. Hope this helps!

Great bar, with a couple caveats (knurling, short sleeves)
I’ve owned this trap bar for 1.5 years. The chrome seem good - no cracking or chipping. It may be “hard chrome”, which is what you want in lifting bars. Build quality seems solid and I have no concerns about it’s welds. The dimensions are great. The handles are a comfortable width, height, and diameter for both me (6’, around 200lbs) and my wife (5’10, around 125lbs). No issues with the standing area being too small even with my “winter coat.” Really, it’s perfect in many ways and I do like it’s smaller width overall. Some trap bars are just crazy wide.I removed two stars because (1) the knurling is horrible and (2) the sleeves are short (9-3/8” loadable sleeve per side). So, there’s a trade-off for the shorter width that I like. And while the sleeves are probably adequate for most, even me if I used iron, but for those looking to lift BIG, you’ll probably need longer sleeves.1: The knurling was stamped to a pyramid but left sharp. It’s pretty darn aggressive to say the least. I took a file to it and it’s still sharp. I just wear gloves and that mitigates the issue. So, chalk it up as getting what you paid for but not a critical flaw. There was one serious issue here though: there was a super sharp piece of metal hanging off the edge of the knurling when we got it, it sliced a deep cut into my finger when I lifted it to just move it without any weight. I filed it off.2: The sleeves are a bit short. The maximum weight I can fit is 281.4 lbs of bumper plate (115 per side), or 411.4 lbs of urethane coated iron (180 per side). I would get a better bar (which have longer sleeves) and more bumper plates before I used iron plates. Comes down to using the right tool for the job. Even if it’s another set of plates to buy. My bar weighs 51.4 lbs.My legs are about average for a guy. Certainly not tree trunks like a power lifter. More of a runner’s tone. Though I do find that I’m moving up in weight and even though I expect to hit plateaus at times, I may eventually outgrow this bar and still not have built tree trunk legs (not that I want them).I didn’t know of brands like REP fitness and Rogue when I bought this bar, though had I, I certainly would have paid $264 for the REP bar. The knurling is awesome (they hone a smooth bowl at the top of each pyramid, so it grips but doesn’t cut). Also, I would not outgrow it. But of course it’s twice the price. So, if you’re looking for a budget bar, is this bar a good option? Yes, absolutely, with a couple caveats (knurling, sleeve length). If you’ve got the money to consider other options, buy once, cry once - with a reputable brand like REP or Rogue.I attached pictures of the bar loaded with bumper plates and also with urethane coated iron. You see that there isn’t quite enough space to fit the purple clamp, though there’s enough to make what I think is safe contact. …It’s a squat, not a kettlebell swing. All the best in your fit-life goals!

Solid bar for deadlifts and squats
The hex bar arrived in good shape, the packaging was not damaged and the wood structure inside helps protect it. There was an excessive amount of oil all over the bar, not sure why. So far I have used it for dead lifts and it is excellent, very solid and plenty of room inside. The price I paid was jacked up higher than normal as Amazon was taking advantage of the pandemic to milk more profit from customers so not super pleased about that, but overall it's a good purchase.

would buy this product again
really like how the handles swivel. can do more different hand positions. not real steady though. you would think it would be heavier.

Love the handles
The swivel handles make all the difference! The only thing that is odd, is you do not want to lose the clips that come with it. My other clips, that are tight on my barbell, are loose on this.

What an awesome piece of equipment
I was expecting to see poor weld quality often associated with low cost steel products. What a surprise to find the quality of this item exceeds even high dollar items. welding must be robotic as its perfect. As for using the equipment, it works perfectly. the round bars for the weights are a bit undersize to standard olympic equipment, and thus, some collars dont grip it well. fortunately, it comes with its own spring collars that work perfectly. the knurled handles are perfect size and grip. you can supinate your grip for hitting the traps more intensely, or neutral grip or flip the unit over and you get a locked grip position with a lower grip height to improve your range of motion. This unit is an absolute fantastic addition to my home gym. It is actually robust enough to use in a commercial gym. Very nice quality and function. i Highly recommend this unit if you are in the market for one.

Pude resolver el problema!!
Compré collares de la marca lock jaw pro y se agarraron a la perfección, aunque los discos quedan un poco flojos pero funciona. Suerte 🤞
