Top tier, totally worth it in my opinion!
Man this is the smoothest lead pencil I have ever used. The weight feels perfect! Light enough to disappear in your hands but enough weight to feel like a premium item. Has a great compact feel but still is easy to control. I did not expect it to come with lead but it was a pleasant surprise as the lead it comes with feels great; although I felt that the pentel ain stein B was a step above it as a perfect match for a smooth, effortless writing feel and still retaining a dark sharp line that looks great for notes.

This is a step above the regular Caran
Whoa now! This black code pencil takes things up a notch. It adds a bit of textured grip to it and blacks out all but the pencil tip. I swear it adds a bit of weight which helps the smoothness of things and just looks so much nicer for the price! It’s got the typical quality you know of when you pick this brand and makes others jealous that are carrying a basic pencil. I’m a huge fan of a mechanical pencil and bought this to compliment my new Monte Blanc notebook! Ugh, I love this pencil so much - I may even buy the pen just because the set would be so killer looking. If you are a pencil freak, like myself, you should fire up an Amazon order for this right now!

No big difference
I don't see a significant difference to the regular 0.7 mechanical pencil, beyond blackening out the silver clip and tip. I'm sure this pencil will lose much of its black coating through daily use. Still, it is an excellent pencil in itself but save your money and get the regular version.

Not worth buying for this price
I had higher expectations for this pencil. The pen chip is loose, and it feels light. I thought it might have a bit more weight to it. It’s not worth the price. I think they’ve added the cost of the box to the price, as the box is much better than the pencil itself.

Top pencil for writing, drawing, filling out puzzels (sudoku, crosswords, ...) including hidden eraser. I love it, even though I had expected it to be slightly larger... but very happy !

A stylish and cool looking pencil
I already had a red pencil in this line but this is the special one. The feeling in hand is really cool. And the writing as well. The only thing I don’t like is the tip. It doesn’t go in. This makes it look less than it actually is. And the pencil is open for accidents more. At this price range, I’d think that the tip draw in mechanism would be there. But it’s not.
