Don't be confused by the conflicting advice in these reviews!!!!
Ok, so you're reading the product reviews trying to figure out if this powder is disgusting or delicious. You are conflicted. Some people say that it is LITERALLY UNDRINKABLE, while others say that it's THE BEST PROTEIN POWDER THEY'VE EVER TASTED. I came into this purchase with very, very low expectations. First of all, I hate mocha flavored things. Second of all, I HATED the Vega sport performance protein (chocolate flavor), because I could taste the beany-ness of it, and the texture and smell were revolting (also, it started to separate within 2 minutes of mixing. Gross). I bought this powder because Whey protein powders really really upset my stomach, even though some of them are delicious. All of that aside, here's what I have to say: This protein powder is fing delicious. Holy mackeral. I was so surprised that I liked it, I was honestly expecting that I'd have to add bananas and peanut butter and soy milk to make it palletable. I tried it with plain, cold water in a shaker bottle. It's awesome! The mocha flavor is very very subtle, and the chocolate flavor is really rich and creamy. It's pretty sweet, but no sweeter than a milkshake, so if you're one of those reviewers complaining about how "unbearably sweet it is", you need to understand that they're TRYING to make this taste like a yummy, creamy milkshake. And even when mixed with plain water, IT DOES!!!!!! The texture is great. It has a little grain to it, but it absolutely is not offensive or overpowering. I'm going to try mixing it with some soy milk tomorrow and see how that tastes. If you're worried about which protein powder to buy, BUY THIS ONE!! Seriously. It's cheap, delicious, and the macros stack up great against Whey protein powders. Do not be afraid! Take the plunge!! You'll love it (and if not, mix in a bunch of other crap until it tastes good, and buy something else next time). IN the end, your taste buds are unique, so you have to try it to know if you'll like it or not.

Quality protein
I’ve been using this protein off and on for over a decade and have always felt great when incorporating it in my diet. I now use it for my kids and feel good about the ingredients. I’ve always enjoyed the taste of both the chocolate and the vanilla.

Let's be honest...
I realize that when it comes to "taste", this is a very individual thing and difficult to figure out based on reviews. With that said, I'd like to share my experience with the chocolate mocha flavored MRM Veggie Elite. The first thing I should mention is that this definitely has texture with whatever your liquid of choice may be. If you are familiar, whey protein will blend into a silky, smooth kind of consistency with the right liquid. The Veggie Elite is not silky. In my opinion, most plant based protein powders are not. Luckily, it blends to the same consistency with skim milk, 1% milk, 2% milk, whole milk, soy milk, cashew milk, almond milk, water, and orange juice (those are the only things I've tried) in your standard blender ball shaker. The rest of this review is simply my usage. This is my go to protein and is mixed with EVERY different type and flavor of protein powder I use. To extrapolate, I use a plant based vanilla, planted based vanilla lacuma, whey chocolate, whey peanut butter, and a whey cookies and cream. To each of those, I add the chocolate mocha to make them taste better and to me, most of them are fine on their own. Of course, the chocolate mocha gets used as is. Just to clarify, I don't mix any of the other flavors together. I use so many different kinds of protein to give my body a wider variety of nutrition as I will typically drink 1 or 2 shakes a day. Additionally, every shake gets ground chai and ground flax. Various amounts of hemp powder and/or ground pumpkin and/or powdered greens may get thrown in also. All of these ingredients makes my shakes quite gritty but still blend easily with a blender ball although I wouldn't drink any of them without the veggie elite chocolate mocha. Truly for me, the taste of it is what makes it possible for me. If I buy a flavor of powder that I don't like, I simply add this chocolate mocha and I can finish the container. I go through so much of this stuff so fast that I decided to add this as a subscribe and save item and that's how I came to write this review. I actually didn't read any reviews before trying this product. It was #1 for best tasting vegan protein on the body building .com website, so that's how I discovered this gem!

My stomach can sometimes be sensitive and sometimes I'd my stomach would get pretty upset after having protein shakes
In the past, I mainly used whey protein and I'd make the smoothie mixed with milk. My stomach can sometimes be sensitive and sometimes I'd my stomach would get pretty upset after having protein shakes. Not sure if it's just the whey protein, milk or both. I mentioned this to a trainer I was using and he suggested trying vegan protein powder so I searched on amazon and found this and went with this. I think the first times I used it, I mixed it with water, but now I use coconut milk (Silk brand and comparable types) and I haven't experienced any stomach issues. The taste is fine. I've had worse and I've had better, but since it doesn't upset my stomach, so far, that's the most important to me. I'm guessing because of the rice protein, there's a slight after or side taste which tastes like rice cakes to me so that's a little different. It also has a slight gritty texture which is different but not a big turn-off or anything. For those two reasons, I give it 4 vs. 5 stars. I used it after most workouts when I first got it, but wasn't working out a ton then and since I've started working out a lot more over the past month, I haven't been using it, so I can't attest to how well it attributes to muscle growth.
