Alpha Crusher; The Crusher for everyone
Unbeatable tone at an affordable price. The Alpha Crusher is a compact pedal, build like a tank and includes three very popular effects; Distortion, Chorus and Delay. The Delay can be set from a subtle echo and/or reverberation to infinite repetition. The Chourus is luscious and rich with a wide wide range that complements well any style. The Distortion sets this pedal at a new level. The Distortion works really well with a clean signal. It will favor your clean channel and will require more tweaking with dirty channels. The voicing is very Marshall like. It can be set from clean to Over Drive to full fledge Distortion stopping short of the heaviest of Metal. This is a very dinamic Distortion. Once you find the sweet spot on your amp, the pedal will react very well to the Volume control roll back and clean up nicely. It will also react very well to the pick attack causing your high frequencies to brake first in to very Blues like over drive. The best future of the Alpha Crusher is that all the effect included here interact very well with each other contributing to more great tone. The knobs, while small, have been fitted with a rubbery material that makes them easy to control. The Alpha Crusher is fairly noiseless, may hear some noise at very high gain. The best is that this is a compact tool with a wide range of options that can help any musician to taylor their own guitar tone at a very affordable price.

Pretty good bang for the buck!
I've had this pedal for over a year now, so, here goes. I got it because I wanted a not too large multi effects pedal that I could quickly set up at open Mike open jams ,etc....So I got this from Amazon, because for $60 what the hell, I certainly wouldn't break the bank. It took an uncharacteristically long time from Amazon..(but that was due to Hurricane Irma!), but when I got it, i had a gig that night, so I got to try it THAT night. Well, I gotta say that I was PLEASANTLY surprised! First, it took up considerably less real estate on the stage than I thought if would. Secondly, the effects sounds better than I expected. The analog delay, while not as good as the Carbon Copy (an AWESOME effect, btw!), performed more than satisfactory...the chorus performed pretty well, too, as did the distortion. And each effect has three knobs so you can tweak each effect to your liking. And it's small enough to fit in your gig bag. Does it sound as good as a pedalboard loaded with high end pedals?........not really....BUT.......for a considerably lower price.....the drop off of quality is not that noticeable....I use this one more than my high end pedalboard for ease of setup....if you want to augment your sound with minimal investment....look no further.....

Great for practice!
This is a very cool pedal for the practicing musician. The Alpha Cruncher has arguably the 3 most popular effects guitarists use and it's small enough to fit easily in your gigbag or in the back of your amp. I'll definitely be bringing this with me as a backup to every gig! No on to the more detailed part of the review. The distortion is a bit harsh for my typical style but it is decent. It doesn't get too muddy and overall it's easy to dial in a usable tone. I have my treble dialed almost all the way back on my Princeton Reverb with a Les Paul and still find it to be a bit trebly The chorus is great. I find it to be rather subtle which I prefer. It comes out a bit more when the distortion is engaged. I find it doesn't have as much of the psycho chorus settings that some other pedals have but that's more extreme than I believe the normal user needs. The delay is great. Fairly easy to use and sounds good. Construction is solid and it comes with what seems to be an 8-10 foot power adapter. I'm not sure the exact length since my tape measure only goes to 6 feet. This may seem like a small detail but it is super convenient I would like to see another option of this pedal with tap tempo delay and a tuner built in. I'd like for more of a Tube Screamer tone and a phaser instead of chorus but that's just because of the stuff I play. Overall it's a great pedal for less than $70. Anyone should be able to buy this. It's a great value for anyone who wants a portable rig, needs a backup, or who just bought their first electric guitar and needs some effects on a budget.

A really good multipedal at any price!
I have several modeling amps including Peavey Vypyr with the Sanpera pedals and some older sweet ole tube amps as well. I have been using my Vypyr for quite a while and really like it. Recently I started playing in my home started using the tube amps and needed some pedals since my son had moved out years ago and I let him take our pedals ect.. My son had told me that he had bought and used some Donner pedals recently and thought they were pretty good. I reviewed this pedal and it sounded well and people had high regards for it. So I bought it and boy was I glad. It looks good, is well built and every effect is GOOD! some multi effect pedals have one or two things that sound good but the other effects arent always that useable. This pedal has 3 definitely good effects and run independent or you can run them together. It has been really easy to find the useable tones I was looking for with this pedal and Im tickled pink because of the GREAT VALUE! 3 Good effects for $65.00 is awesome. The more Donner Electronics I buy the better Im liking them! TAKE NOTE that I play mainly 70s thru 90s rock and grunge and it may not have what you are looking for, but the gain on the distortion will run the cats and dogs out of the house! LOL

Best Bet For The Price
Effects work well. Perfect first/beginner pedal. Controls are easy to use. 3 effects for the price of 1! Some notes: Distortion seems to be the weak link here, as it doesn't sound that great (for me) until I use a lower tuning. Starts coming through well at Drop Db and lower though. This might be due to the rest of my setup. Guitar with a single/single/humbucker pickup layout and a cheap, old amp. Chorus and Delay effects work fantastically. Would recommend combining with a compressor pedal (currently using a Donner Compressor) and this helps a lot.

I really wanted to love this pedal..
What a great concept. When it arrived, I was surprised at how much smaller it was than I'd even expected it to be. It's almost too small. I loved the sound of Donner's Yellow Fall analog delay, but needed some longer delay (the Yellow Fall does 600ms, this unit claimed 1000ms) I also wanted an od/ distortion to match my old Bandit65 (see my Boss SD-1 review), and a good basic chorus. The Alpha Crunch looked ideal, especially for the price. Well.. The delay had the same tone as the YF, but didn't even match its 600ms range, much less make it to 1000. The chorus was fine. The distortion sounded good, but the drive and volume controls override everything else in the signal chain and messed up all the levels. I experimented with it for a bit, but the delay was already a deal breaker. Really too bad. I ended up returning thr Alpha Cruncher and getting Tutti Love chorus and SD-1. When I save the $$ I'll add a DD-3 or DD-7 and make the Yellow Fall a backup.

Solid Little Performer
I bought this for live shows and in the year or so I’ve owned it, it’s performed well and given me no trouble. My band plays most every weekend and during the summer months most of our gigs are of the outdoor/festival variety. I’m primarily a keyboard player, but handle guitar chores on about 25-percent of our tunes. I wanted a versatile pedal that gave me some decent sounds without taking up a whole lot of real estate on stage; this thing filled the bill. I was surprised at just how good the three different effects were. The distortion is rich and buttery, the delay clean and well-defined and the chorus (which I rarely use) nice and clear, though a little bit wimpy and artificial sounding compared to some dedicated units. The real selling point of this pedal is its compactness and versatility. Takes up much less room than a pedal board with a bunch of Boss units (or whatever) stuck to it. Also, setup is significantly easier. Not all the included effects (or is it “affects,” I can never remember) are exactly studio quality, but they’re more than good enough for live shows, where audience noise and my fellow band members tend to mask the more refined tones anyway. The only downside I can think of is this: if the pedal goes out during a performance, you lose *all* your effects (or affects) rather than just a single sound. That’s typical of any all-in-one unit, though. If I had the money, I’d probably buy a backup unit and carry in a gear box or something. But I’m a working musician, which means I’m broke most of the time. That being the case, and this pedal being remarkably cheap considering the quality of the thing, I’m happy with the purchase.

Great Pedal!
For the cost, this pedal is incredible! I’ve seen a lot of these low cost multi effects pedals with an useless distortion effect, and This distortion is very functional and useable. The delay and chorus sound great as well. I’m very impressed with it. It also comes with a power cable which is great. I also really like the weight and size of this pedal too. I purchased it to place on a travel pedalboard, so it takes up hardly any room or add a lot of weight to my board, but adds 3 separate pedals. I strongly recommend this pedal and am very happy with this purchase.

Great little unit and didn't break the bank.
Sounds great in front of an amp (both tube and solid state). Have not tried it direct. It's well made and feels solid. No major noise other than the distortion when at crazy gain. Switches are easy to press under foot (even in socks or bare foot). Distortion: Can get a bit noisy at higher gain but I've managed to dial in a nice smooth tone to suit my preference (Driving blues / rock / punkity-rock) Of all 3 FX this one feels the weakest but it's not bad by any stretch. Chorus: It's a chorus. It sounds like a chorus, it says it's a chorus, so it must be a chorus. Burn it!! No, seriously it sounds great to my old ears, not that I rock a lot of chorus but it sweetens up a clean/ slightly muddy tone. Delay: It's no DD-3 but it sounds lovely to me. I tend to use a subtle amount for a bit a flavor and it does it very well. The knobs and switches are fine. The knobs are very small and out of the way so the won't get kicked off the pedal with an errant stomp. The knobs have a nice rubber outer ring to make it easy to dial in. I will say the blue LEDS that illuminate for each active effect are quite bright in the dark ( I tend to grab my axe at odd times (like waiting for coffee to brew/ toaster to pop etc.) and had no lights on in the room. Those suckers could guide a small plane in on a foggy night! Although my old eyes tend to halo bright lights as it is due to my astigmatism. You youngsters will be fine. Great value for the $. Three great FX in one compact and durable unit. And it comes with the power adapter! Rock on folks!!

suena muy bien, compite contra pedales mas caros. es un poco mas pequeño de lo que creí, pero no me arrepiento de comprarlo

Remarkable value and very usable!
I bought the Alpha Cruncher 3. What an exxcxellent device this little beastie is! It's quite tiny, but seems sturdy and well-made. The three functions work very well indeed (although the chorus, while acceptable, isn't quite as strong as it might be) and each of them has a broad range of adjustment, making it easy as pie to find a setting I like. I didn't actually NEED this 3-in-1 pedal, as I already have pro-level effects on my board and in various MFX units. But at the price, including a decent power supply, I couldn't resist it! It might not be targeted at professional players, but in a pinch, or if stage space is really limited, for the stuff I play I reckon I could get through a gig with just this item between guitar and amp. In short, I'm delighted!

Llegó nuevo en su empaque bien cuidado.
Fue regalo de Navidad para mi sobrino, me decidí por este pedal porque sonaba mejor que otros en las reseñas.

Great value, Good tones.
Great first impressions. Even after reading other great reviews, it still exceeded expectations. Great build quality: Pedal is small, and I worried about it wanting to turn over when cables are plugged in, but it has a nice heft and feels great under your foot. The rubber on the dials is a nice touch, and the dials themselves feel smooth and well constructed. Tones: Exactly what you are expecting. I doubt anyone is going to single this pedal out for having outstanding tones- but the tones are perfectly workable and it has a pretty good range of sounds with the simple controls given. May be checking out more stuff from Donner in the near future.
