Great set of speakers
I bought these speakers about a month ago. I wanted to use them for a while before I wrote a review about them. I connected them directly to my TV through the optical Port. I was having a problem connecting them to my TV so I contacted customer service via email. They promptly replied to me and were very helpful. They were even willing to send me another set of speakers when the issue was not resolved right away. Eventually, I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong so it was not necessary for them to send me another set of speakers. When connecting these speakers to a TV make sure you go into the TV settings and change the audio output Dolby digital to PCM. I think the other issue was that I didn't have my TV turned off when I connected the speakers. Now, I have one very minor complaint before I get to the positive things about speakers. These speakers have an optical Port but they are obviously made to connect to a TV. That being said, it would be nice if there was an indication light on the front of the speaker so that the user could tell if the speaker is on when using the remote to turn the speakers on. Now the positive, these speakers sound great. Especially for what you pay for them. Mine replaced a Bose soundbar and these speakers outperform the soundbar in every way. The build quality is excellent. I believe the sides are made of real wood and the front, back, top and bottom are made of particle board. I did some research and have viewed a few videos that show the inner workings of these speakers. The speakers seem to be well put together and thought out. The magnet on the wolfers are very large. The wiring is done very well. I live in a very small apartment so I didn't need anything way over the top like a 5.1 surround sound system. These speakers with their 4 inch woofers won't rattle the rafters but they do deliver a very nice and deep clear sound. I think they would also work very well if they were connected to a computer. I think gamers would really enjoy them. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone who is on a tight budget and need some good quality speakers. If you consider yourself to be an audio file these probably aren't the speakers for you. You'll have to spend two or three hundred dollars more to get something you will like. In conclusion, again I would highly recommend these speakers. I have really enjoyed them. They sound much better than my soundbar ever did. I'm glad they come with all the cables you need. I'm also glad that they come with a remote. Again, I had a great experience with their customer service. A big thank you to them for everything they did to try to accommodate my needs.

Loving these for sound and functionality!
I recently picked up the Edifier R1280DB speakers to pair with my record player, and I couldn’t be happier with the choice. These speakers strike a perfect balance between vintage charm and modern convenience. The wooden finish gives them a classic, timeless look—right at home next to my vinyl setup—while the Bluetooth and multiple input options make them incredibly easy to use with today’s equipment. Sound-wise, they deliver a rich, full-bodied tone that brings my records to life. The warmth in the midrange and the clarity in the vocals are exactly what I wanted for that authentic analog sound. I also appreciate that the bass and treble controls let me fine-tune the audio depending on what I’m spinning—whether it's an old jazz record or a modern pressing. They’re not just great for vinyl, either. I’ve connected them to my laptop and phone to stream music, and they perform wonderfully across all formats. Overall, the Edifier R1280DBs deliver an impressive blend of style, sound quality, and versatility. If you’re a vinyl lover looking for affordable powered speakers that do justice to your records, these are a fantastic pick.

Very impressive for the price/size
Before you read what I write, you need to know that sound quality matters more to me than most people I know, so I'm picky, but not to the level of an audiophile. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount more to get better quality sound. These speakers are well constructed and sound good for the size and price. Their reproduction of music and dialog is clear. They are loud enough for our space (a medium-sized kitchen). They are easy to use with Bluetooth (we stream from an Echo Dot). They look really good. A few notes to consider: 1. These are powered bookshelf speakers and don't have the screw mounts that you will see with some satellite/monitor speakers. We mounted ours with VideoSecu clampijg bookshelf mounts, which worked well. 2. They come with all of the cables you might need. Those weren't necessary for us because we're streaming, but it is a nice touch. 3. If you're looking to be blown away by bass, you need to look for something else (larger). I found the bass more than adequate, but I know some prefer a resounding bass, and these probably won't satisfy those folks. Less than two months after we purchased these, they started to periodically drop the Bluetooth signal and, on one occasion, had some static. These problems were always resolved by unplugging the speakers and plugging them back in, but we did contact Edifier. They sent us a new set without any hassle (actually they sent them before telling me they would be replacing them). I think you can count on good service should you need it, and these come with a 2 year warranty.

Nice upgrade from logitech
I think the existing reviews were accurate but I found a couple bandaids that helped them sound better. Firstly reviews suggest the mid range on these was a bit underwhelming. I plugged these in on my coffee table and this was indeed very true. The speakers have alot of range and accuracy, I was hearing things in the music I couldn't hear before. However the music sounded "cold" and lacked some of the brilliance from a better speaker. I found switching the speaker to my wood desk and near a wall really improved the sound tremendously. I also notice a huge difference between plugging in my laptop vs my high end desktop and I think this is due to the differences in motherboard sound chips/drivers and the quality of the signal it's sending to the speakers. My desktop sounds much better with the same music on these speakers. I also found a reddit that suggested to turn the treble and bass we down to help avoid drowning out the low mids on this speaker. Not sure if this is part of it or not but they sound much better in my small office than in our larger living room. I agree the bluetooth isn't very intuitive and took a bit to get working. I now have it working. Look/design - Here's where it did not disappoint. the speakers look incredibly stylish and premium. The wood and front mesh both look well made and stylish. They have a good amount of weight to them so they don't rattle, rubber feet fit well on desk. Sound transfer: This was a huge benefit of these speakers. My old/cheaper system had a sub, and annoyed my wife from other rooms even at very low volumes. I can turn this system up reasonably high in my office and with the glass french doors closed my wife can't hear much at all from the next room let alone the upstairs. Really looking forward to this benefit so I can actually use them. I would give a higher star rating if they were a bit "warmer" sounding/ had better tuned mid range sounds.

Fantastic sound! Best value small media speakers in this price range!
I've had these for about a week and I'm very impressed! I'm an audio engineer by profession so I'm naturally hyper critical regarding speaker sound quality, balance, and tone. I have lots of experience with both similarly priced monitors this size and ones that cost10x as much, designed for critical listening SO, the verdict? Before I get technical, these1280DB speakers are simply SATISFYING and very PLEASANT to listen to for most genres of music, TV & movies and spoken content. Bass is natural, low mids are full and punchy, highs are crisp and most importantly, the mids are clear and detailed. They hold their own compared to $$$ Dynaudios! They are smooth like ribbon-tweeter ADAMs. Bose fans will probably not like these as the EQ curve is not over hyped in the lows nor brittle in the highs. Getting this sound along with 2 analog inputs, 2 digital inputs, bluetooth AND a useable on-board EQ AND a remote with a Mute button (!!) is simply unheard of at well under $150. If you are looking to upgrade your media center in a bedroom or small living space, listen to a variety of music and content for extended hours do not pass these up! Your won't find better with these features. I'm getting another set for the bedroom. TL;DR Are there better speakers out there? Absolutely. But not with this feature set and well planned multi-use I/O. If you like extremes (massive bass, head frying treble and volumes that will rattle your glassware, these aren't for you. If you like to be right there in the studio with Miles Davis recording Kind of Blue, hearing nuance and tone, these are for you. There is ZERO listening fatigue at up to 90% of max volume for hours! Fatigue is commonly found with speakers of this size (Bose) and class that commonly sound ok for about 15 minutes until your ears fight off the painfully hyped EQ curve by reducing your sensitivity to bass and treble, leaving a messy and tiring midrange. Rather, these Edifers can be placed in a small living room and sound great all over the room. Great for passive listening as well as focused listening. Excellent stereo imaging too. They don't get crazy loud (you can speak loudly over them at 90% volume - above 95% distortion starts to enter and your don't want that) but are plenty loud for small to mid size rooms. There's bass for sure, but they don't thump. And you shouldn't expect that for ~$130 unless you want fake fatigue thump. To get true thump you need a woofer cone at least 6" , pref 8". To outdo these speakers you're looking at $200+ and half the features. No, they are not flat but the inherent EQ curve works amazingly well. I can critically judge mixes on these. They sound natural in the bass, crisp but soft in the high freq and most importantly they have a CLEAR, nicely balanced low-mids to mids to high-mids range. And these are " computer speakers " per se! I would use these in a pro studio if I had to. And look, sound is extremely subjective. You'll get 100 different opinions from 100 ppl. But your can trust that all things equal, you will surely enjoy the sound of these. They have a tone to them that is just RIGHT, and not all wonky in some random freq area or phase issue like most other small format consumer models. Edifer nailed it with these and I don't know how they kept them under $150. Don't pass these up. They sound fantastic! From minute 1 to hour 12.

Excellent pair of Bluetooth stereo speakers
Awesome set of speakers for the price! Easy setup and fits naturally into a room if you have mostly wood furnishings. They seem tough and should last a long time; felt solid when putting them up on a shelf. Bluetooth was easy and natural; especially appreciate that the Bluetooth doesn’t work when a phone call is initiated. Excellent sound quality!

Amazing sound, quality
EDIT 3: I gotta be honest I went from 3 to 5 stars the more I use these and also the more speakers I've had experience with. They sound incredible when you sit right in front of them with them at ear level. Like way better than they have any business sounding like. I am really blown away to be honest. Technical annoyances aside I would recommend these in a heartbeat with some proper stands to get them up to ear height. EDIT 2: I've upgraded my rating on these after using them as more traditional hardwired speakers using optical input. They really do sound fantastic. I've been using them more as nearfield desktop speakers on stands for my computer and the sound quality to me is just wonderful and properly balanced. I have docked one star because the poor remote and bluetooth experience which I think is fair, it really is the worst part of these speakers. If you hard wire them though you don't have to deal with any of that and they are such an incredible value. I do still plan to get some KEF speakers but these are holding me over for now. EDIT: I docked two stars for one specific reason: the remote is awful and there is no forward-facing indicator light or sound indication on the device that indicates it is on/off/bluetooth pairing/etc. I have to physically get to the side of it and tap the power button several times to get it to turn on or off, and I have no clue if it's pairing. It's very frustrating and hinders an otherwise wonderful set of speakers. I bought some bluetooth speakers and returned them because they didn't have adequate bass control. I'm pretty sensitive to bass, and most speakers have abysmal bass quality that just gives me headaches. This has both full bass control and great quality bass, along with having wonderful sound quality. The remote works great, and bluetooth connectivity is easy and fuss free. Incredibly happy with my purchase!
