Seems really well made. I've been working on learning it. Has really pretty tones.

Bare bones affair...
Perhaps the zurna isn't for me. This shipped with the body of the instrument, a reed, and a receptacle for the reed that slides -- very loosely -- into the body. That's it. No storage case or even an inexpensive pouch. Equally to the point: no instructions. A bit of Googling turned up an Armenian site with some helpful tips, whereupon I moistened the reed, put the whole lot together again, and proceeded to... well, I'm not sure what I did, to be honest. I've heard zurnas. They have a piercing, haunting sound. This one just sounded like elephant flatulence. The fact that the reed showed a significant split once moistened probably wasn't helping matters any. The body looks nice at a superficial glance, but when you look closer, you'll see "LA" (the key of the instrument - G) apparently lettered on with a Sharpie. All in all, I'm not impressed.
