awesome leaf blower with a few things to note
Power: This is my very first leaf blower so I don't have a point of comparison, but it's powerful enough to get the job done. Noise: It was just like having a loud vacuum cleaner on my back, but the level is totally tolerable - no headphone or ear plugs needed. One of the most annoying things about gas-operatied leaf blower is the very loud noise (especially at 7:30 AM on Saturdays), so it's a huge plus for this leaf blower! Length of operation: With a fully charged battery I was able to operate it for about 20 minutes before having to recharge it, just as the product description stated. Battery: It takes about 40 minutes to fully recharge the battery & 20 minutes of operating time before the battery is completely depleted. Note that a spare 2.5Ah Battery currently costs190 on Amazon. For me it's worth using just one battery & wait for it to fully recharge to continue. Overall operation: I had to recharge the battery 4 times before I was able to clear the front yard (with 2 large oak trees) that's about 0.2 acre - with 20 min operating time +40 min recharging, it took about 5 hours total. If you have a spare battery this time can be significantly shortened. The blower hose is ginormous! I am small framed (5'2" and 110 lbs) making it somewhat cumbersome to operate the blower hose. The weight of the unit with the battery in position is still pretty light, even a small person like me had no problem carrying it on my back the entire time it took to get the leaves cleared. Without the noise and smell of a gas-operated unit and with the same level of power, this leaf blower is a clear winner! If you don't have the patience to wait 40 minutes for the battery to recharge, I recommend getting a spare battery.

Game changer
I didn't want to carry gas... the battery life is pretty decent. The noise level is higher than a mower but not like a gas blower might be. It works well and cleaning power is nice. There is a function for a boost of power/ extr speed, but this decreases the battery like. I think it is a great value for your money. We have so many trees on our lot that shed leaves this helps get it out of bushes, grass and around objects. I'd say it is true to the advertised battery life. It charges in 45 mins so really you can depleted do something else and come back pretty quick. Highly recommend

Nice machine, but only good for quick jobs, i.e. less than 20 minutes
I have used the blower now on 4 occasions in the past week. The machine is well built and comfortable to wear. Assembly was very straight forward with no issues. It has plenty of blowing power, but what I was surprised to find is that I could do a lot more than I thought using the "trigger lock" switch to select and hold operation at a lower speed. At about 2/3 of the trigger lock switch, I had more than enough to do most of what I wanted, particularly with the ability to post the "turbo" button for those times when you need a little more blowing force. THE BIG DRAWBACK is the battery life. Running mostly at max blowing speed I would struggle to get 18 minutes of run time. This was really disappointing, but I knew that going in and so I also purchased the larger 4.0aH battery. I thought between the two of them, I would be able to do my long driveway which takes about 45 minutes. The 4.0aH battery only has about 3-4 more minutes of run time vs. the 2.5aH battery, and that was REALLY DISAPPOINTING.

Doesn't work as advertised
Misleading advertising, poor customer service and a track record of products that don’t come close to lasting as long in run time or life as their gas powered alternatives. The: “About this item” states “Up to 18 minutes of continued run time on high speed with a fully charged 80V 2.5Ab battery”. I didn’t get nearly the 18 minutes of run time I specifically ordered this item for, but I did get 18 ++++ minutes of on hold time attempting to reach customer service. Upon doing so and providing all purchasing information I asked why I was getting 8 minutes of run time as opposed to the 18 advertised. They replied their product description states “up to 18 minutes”, not 18 minutes. I replied 8 minutes of run time doesn’t qualify for a representation of “up to 18 minutes”. After being placed on hold I was subsequently told the actual run time was closer to 8 minutes if turbo mode is used. Turbo is higher velocity than high velocity. It’s needed, used, and cuts the advertised run time to 8 minutes. As if that isn’t bad enough, the actual run time without using turbo is a measly 11 minutes, not 18. This begs the question: is advertising up to 18 minutes when you get 11 false advertising? Under what actual conditions would 18 minutes be achieved……..zero gravity? For days I attempted to speak to someone at Greenworks remaining on hold numerous times until hanging up over excessive wait times. They lack a call back option and if they do post an email address on their website you would have to be Sherlock Holmes to find it. I was told they do sell a 120 Wh battery that provides 233% more power. When I asked how long would the turbo run time be with this battery upgrade I was told “I don’t have that information”. I explained I had just purchased two complete units based on the advertised run time and ordered two several years ago. The blowers and their batteries didn’t last. I asked given the shorter than advertised run time, and the fact that I purchased again despite past issues and the days I spent trying to reach them, could they can do anything for me on the better battery? The reply was a firm “NO”. After posing the question an alternative way I was again told NO. Based upon my experiences, I can’t recommend this company or its products. I find that unfortunate given their selection and electric powered products. Ironically I had been hyping battery power to a landscaper prior to receiving my new Greenworks blowers and was considering asking the town’s mayor to outlaw gas powered lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers and weed whackers. Instead I’m posting this review and deciding whether to return the blowers I just purchased.

This is a great blower. Used with a 4amp and 5amp batteries for longer runtimes the MPH and CFM increase substantially. Its the battery amps that make the difference. The 2.5 amp works fine but my 4 and 5 amp batteries take it to another level. The 4amp battery is a bit heavier than the 2.5amp but the 5amp is 6lbs but easily handled because of the backpack design with thick shoulder and waist padded straps. I'm 72 and its no issue once on the back. I doubt there would be much need for higher performing blower because this is extremely powerful.

Works extremely well but a 2ah battery is not suufient to run this machine more that 15 min or so. The other issue is after blowing snow for several minutes, the control handle starts give off the occasional shock! There is no cover over the battery so I assume snow is gathering in the battery compartment and creating a short circuit situation! I would think this to be a serious enough of an issue that the manufacturer should provide a field modification to eliminate the issue! That issue is the only reason for not receiving 5 stars!

Very awkward to put on, and if you need to change a battery, it's annoying to have to take it off to make the swap, and then struggle to put it back on, or find your wife to swap it out for you behind your back. Once on, it is nice not to have to carry the weight of the heavy battery in your hands/arms.

Made more of a mess because I still had to rack and dispose a huge pile of leaves while this unit took time out rest as it ran less 10 minutes. Beware and buy a back battery to finish the job. They shouldn’t advertise a longer run time when it stops far short of completing the mess it ends up leaving behind.

Good for about 15 mins and less if you use the turbo button. Only good for light snow.
