Seems to have glitches.
I would probably not this buy this again because it has many glitches. The good: I like the multiple brightness levels, bright(which I rarely use for more than a few seconds) is a nice beam that is very good for a light this size, battery life is acceptable, and since they are rechargeable its great, the ultra low mode is one of my favorite features(love how it keeps night vision/does not wake sleeping children/uses almost no battery), size and weight are great for a large coat pocket. The bad: the charging port cover is always coming open and will likely get ripped off soon, it is hard to determine which is the mode selector button and which is the micro USB port in the dark, I sometime have trouble getting it to start charging. And WORST of all is that the light is very glitchy: it may not come on the first time you click the tail cap, it may pause 4 seconds before coming on, or it may come on for 3 seconds then turn off for 3 seconds then come back on. I wonder if it is trying to gage its own power level to determine how brig he it should be? Seems to do this regardless of charge state. Maybe I got a dud and this is not normal? It also shuts off or changes brightness levels when given a hard shake so I think it would not work well with firearm recoil if that is what you intended.

Great single 18650 battery flashlight
Pros-Having up to a 1,000 lumens is amazing! Great battery life(Using Nitecore 3400 Mah battery). Toggling between brightness is easy as well. Doesn't get too hot on the body after using it for a good while. This style light has a bright focus spot with some flooding around it. Which is great when you're trying to have a pin point spot when using this light. It's small enough to fit in my 5.11 Stryker pocket.Tail cap turning on and off is great for my needs.Battery doesn't shake or move inside of it either. No "thunk" sounds.Cons-I found that there is no easy natural way to toggle the brightness or even the special light features while holding it in one spot. Tried different hand styles and positions and with no success. There isn't an instant access for the strobe light for this model. Have to have the light on, then press and hold the other button to access the special light features. Which I understand, cause the tail cap circuit has to be closed in order to do anything. The momentary function has a slight delay compared to my Streamlight Protac, but that's probably because of all the circuitry and the slight delay of powering up.If you're trying to feel for the button that toggles the light function. It's hard to tell from the USB charging port cover and the button from time to time. It'll be even harder when wearing gloves.Thoughts- I'm sure Nitecore has other models that can fill my wants and needs but I still will hold onto this light.

Very happy with this lijght
Initially wasn't too sure about the light, as the grounding is through the edge of the flashlight body as it contacts the end cap. First time installing the battery it required a bit extra to tighten the cap to get a good connection. Every time after that worked very well. When I first got it I kept it on the highest power as it was a novelty to be able to light things up at longer distances but eventually decided that the 3rd setting was enough for most things. It throws a nice beam that's strong in the center with plenty a fill light around it, kind of a cross between a pencil beam and a flood. I use it every night when I'm out with the dogs and not sure why I really needed two batteries. As bright as it is I expected to change or at least charge batteries more often, but it lasts a long time. One thing I don't like is the charging port is in the same section of the flashlight as the button for changing modes, just on the opposite side. Both have a rubbery feel and at night it's easy to mistake the charging port cover for the mode button.

Nice pocket friendly EDC light
This light throws a little better than my P25. It has a really nice spot and lots of spill. It is more pocket friendly than the P25 and MH25. The interface is similar to the P25 other than the P25 has a metallic button and the 12gt has a rubber covered button. Still both are better than the twist style then push button on the mh25. The machining looks nice on all the nitecore lights I own. The only problem with this light and learned this cause it showed up on a form. Was having problems with the horror movie flashlight. Just shut off slap it and flicker might come on might stay on. Then read that the tail cap after you think you got it on right twist it as tight as you possibly can. Well that work. No more boogy man sneaking up on you. Light works as should. I have 8 other nitecore and don't have to turn the tail cap that tight. Other than that problem this is a really nice light. I use my P25 and HC90 almost daily. Got this light for my wife and another HC90 I really like my P25 but this MH12GT is probably going to get a twin for my pocket. This is a nice EDC light. One thing that is a complaint with this light is the side switch is to much like the USB charge port on the opposite side. Now in a heated presentation this could be a problem but for everyday use at work or home it's not that big of a problem.

Terrible flashlight
Had problems with this flashlight from the moment that I received it. In the torch mode, the flashlight works for about three minutes, then the batteries die and have to be recharged. I thought that the batteries that came with the flashlight were defective, so I purchased new batteries of a different brand. Same result, In the mid-low or mid-high mode, the battery dies after 30 minutes. This flashlight rapidly consumes power out of the battery. Sometimes the flashlight will not turn on or will stay in candle mode, even though the battery is fully charged. This flashlight has been a constant problem so I had to replace it. For the price that I paid for this flashlight, I am very upset.
