Q: Would changing to better tires allow higher speeds? I can't imagine that there is any other reason for the 45 mph speed rating.

The 45 MPH speed rating may not be due to the tires, it may be related to the wheel bearings and axle spindle assembly. Good luck finding an answer on why the 45 MPH limit, even Northern Tool who sells this cannot answer why.

Q: How does this fold? Because we put it together and the black pieces are welded so it won't fold....

I'm in the middle of the assembly. The instructions and bolts require you to bolt the sections on. You have to take off the bolts to fold it. When I review it formally, this will be a negative towards the overall score. I will modify it with some release pins like on the trailer tongue to let it fold easier. In addition, I will purchase silicon washers to put between the metal to make folding easier and less harsh on the metals. I had the same question and called the 800 number. Their product support specialist are 8-5 Mon-Fri. Too bad I'm a weekend warrior and work the same hours as their support. Oh, another negative towards over all review score.

Q: Can you change the coupler to a 2 inch? All my vehicles have 2” receivers, cheaper to change one then 4.

The trailer comes with a 1 7/8" coupler. You can change to a 2" coupler. The coupler base measures 2-1/2 inches wide. You would have to purchase and install separately.
