I'm not new to metal detecting. But I am new to spending big bucks on a real metal detector that works. Seriously, if you tried the cheaper stuff this is the real deal. It works.

Seems to work fine, but no emergency yet.

The stock XP remote mount is junk. Mine cracked in 8 months after normal use—not dropped, not abused. XP calls it an “accessory” so it’s NOT covered by their 5-year warranty. For a $1,200+ machine, that’s ridiculous. I tossed it and bought a mount from a third party—feels 10× stronger. XP needs to stop cheaping out on critical parts. If you’re still running the factory mount, have a backup ready… it’s not if it will fail, it’s when.
