I bought this amp for one purpose, and ended up using it for another, which you may find amusing. My husband is somewhat hard of hearing and it can be frustrating when we're in the car. So I thought, hmmm, I wonder if this amp would help. So I set it up using a microphone with a long cord (we had a really high quality mic that we're using instead of the one that it came with). The cord goes behind the seats and then the amp is secured on the dash in front of him (when he's in the driver's seat) and the unit it so small that it fits there easily without obstructing visibility. When I need to say something, I say it into the microphone and he can hear me perfectly! At first he was super resistant to trying it, and I wasn't actually thinking it would work. But I said "it's just an experiment, let's try it!" We went for a drive, and after awhile he begrudgingly admitted that it worked REALLY well, he was amazed at how well he could hear me. Now our car rides are so much easier and pleasant because he doesn't have to strain to hear me and I don't have to yell. (Now, if the amp came with a feature that filtered out back-seat driving, he'd like it even better, but y'know, you can't have everything.)

This little thing surprisingly gets the job done!
This little box gets the job done! I am a music teacher and have had some vocal issues (mostly fixed by vocal therapy) and this little thing has been a lifesaver this school year. It actually sounds pretty decent and a few of my classes didn't even know that I was using it. I worried it might sound tinny, but it really doesn't. I had a fancy $1000 Redcat Access system in my last school that cannot be beat but I got this to use until the next budget season rolls around as I was paying out of my own pocket.First, I knew I could not teach with a headset on so I ordered this clip-on mic - the Olympus Noise Cancelling Microphone - First of all, you need a mono plug - one stripe on the end or it will not work as I had ordered some other fancy thing that had two stripes and I learned my lesson there - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MYPPPE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - this mic works REALLY well. The cord is kind of dangly and needs to be tucked in behind the box, but it gets the job done. I always wear a lanyard with my keys on it so the clip on mic hooks there just fine! Olympus ME-52W Noise Canceling MicrophoneThe waist belt is just marginally okay on this - it's not particularly flattering, but I would not trust the plastic clip on the back to stay clipped alone. (My clip on the speaker actually broke a month into using this speaker as it was clipped into the front pocket of my black dress pants and when I bent over to pick up a student's flute book the clip snapped inside my pocket. Doh! Luckily, I had the lap belt on so the speaker didn't fall and hit the floor.) The lap belt seems to loosen throughout the day and kind of flops around so I do miss having the clip to at least keep it from spinning around to my backside. If I had any creative fashion sense I would try to make my own belt that was kind of stretchy and a bit more flattering. There are loops on the back of the speaker that the current waist belt hooks into. Also - when I have to bend over I know that I need to turn the speaker box off as there is WICKED feedback when the Olympus mic gets close to the speaker. It silences a room of kids, for sure, but that's not quite my teaching approach. =) I am not sure how the mic that comes with it is with feedback.I LOVE that it is rechargeable. It seems to be taking longer to charge than when I first got it in September (It is now January), but I can usually plug it in right at 7:30 am and it is fully charged by 8:00, so that's acceptable. So, if you are looking for a pretty inexpensive option, I would honestly look into the Croove! It definitely has been worth the $ I paid for it so far.

Many of my patients have bought this and have been very satisfied in amplifying their voice
I am a Speech, Language Pathologist who works with voice and head and neck cancer pts. I had my husband purchase it through amazon prime, I bought this for a demo for my patients whose insurance or school or business will not buy an amplifier for them. Many of my patients have bought this and have been very satisfied in amplifying their voice. It is also comfortable. I tried it myself when I gave a talk and found it to allow my voice to be heard at the back of the room. It is a very good value for the inexpensive price. It was just returned after a patient borrowed it for a few weeks and it is no longer working. I have no idea if it was dropped or just stopped amplifying. I contacted the company and they are replacing it for free even though it is over a year. It was not used continuously as I loan it out usually for a week at a time and it has been loaned maybe 20 times to different patients.. I will continue to use the new one as a demo for future patients at my hospital. The gal in customer service was very helpful.

because it works great as an Amplifier
I am sorry, but I made a big mistake of thinking that this would take the place of my Karaoke USA, to amplify. that I bought from you, some time ago, to use with my Harmonica Music at the Senior Center. I wanted to be able to play my Harmonica, outdoors, for the seniors, but every time I used this Amplifier, it would start making a high pitch squell, every time I would touch it, I had to turn the volume down each time, and not have the mike touch anything, while I was playing my music. I wished that I had returned the above Karaoke Machine, that I purchased some time ago, because it works great as an Amplifier, for my Harmonica Music, (when you connect it to the electric outlets, inside the senior building), and cannot use it on the out side of the building , without power. I ordered the above Karaoke Machine, and thought sure your would send me one that I ordered, but it did not have battery power, like I ordered, but never sent it back, it was my mistake, I did not want the all the problems of sending it back , so I kept it. So, I thought this item, I bought would be great for what I wanted it for, but, no it is no match for my Amplified Karaoke Machine. but it was not battery operated, so now I can only play for the seniors inside with power, in order to obtain amplified music, or a hundred foot extension cord, for power.
