How long can I use this for without mains power?

I have the 2041 which to the best of my knowledge does not accept batteries. So I cannot use this without main power. I would guess 1241 is the same.

this is described as battery powered, yet it comes with a kettle cable, and in the details it says it is AC powered. which is it?

The XDM1041 is mains powered, the more expensive XDM1241 has a lithium battery built in charged by a USB cable. I note the listed Amazon description is the same for both devices, although pictures show different included content. I went for the XDM1041 model, as I planned to use it mainly as a bench device.

Can anyone help with the frequency mode. Trying to measure Hz but can't seem to get anything to display. Using oscilloscope probe.

Could be a level issue, a 10x scope probe could reduce the signal.
