ROLODEX LAPTOP STAND
This thing is just awesome!!!it raises the laptop to an angle that is far more comfortable than it was before the stand, it is solidly built, the price was within my budget, the screening does NOT seem to weaken the structure in the least, yet, the air flow to the fans to keep my laptop cool have increased a ton. There is a cord keeper for the back of the stand(this item is included) & a place for a USB Hub/electrical outlet be mounted(that is extra - does NOT come with). these 2 things can make it a lot easier for some people, however I doubt that I will ever need them.UPDATE:I have had this for about 2 years & I can tell you that even though it does not bounce too good(I dropped it on the floor) it STILL does what it is designed to do.mine is a wee bit bent, but as I said earlier, it does not bounce too good.In the 2 yrs that I have had this, it has performed flawlessly...even after dropping iton the floor.the only thing I have had to do with this stand, is replace the pads so it does not scratch the furniture...but I made my pads from a mouse pad, I did not buy new pads.I highly recommend this stand to anyone needing one!If there is but 1 complaint, it is a minor one for me & trivial as well.there is a rod that allows you to adjust the tilt of the stand, that rod was missing from mine...but after trying the stand, I do not really need that rod, so for me anyway, it's all good, but when you buy this stand, check to make sure all parts are there.Over all, this is is great buy & a great laptop stand.Update 17/MARCH/2013: I have had this laptop stand for over a year now, & this thing is, in my humble opinion, basically bomb proof! what I mean is, in the past year I have moved twice, dropped the stand numerous times, and been quite rough with it...it has never bent out of shape, does not have 1 scratch on it, has never failed to do the job it was designed for...if you need a great laptop stand, that is durable as a tank (without the weight), will never fail you, look no further than the Rolodex Laptop Stand. Like the old Timex Watch commercials: "Takes a licking & keeps on ticking."If I ever need any office supplies, I know exactly where to go & I encourage everyone else to do so as well...you will never be disappointed.

Good & Sturdy..
I chose this stand because of the reviews & I wanted somthing simple w/o a bunch of plastic parts that will break. I’ve already had one of those w/a fan that I never had a use for. I use this stand on my bed with a MacBookPro 17”. It fits perfect. The The front tabs are plenty tall and hold this laptop with no problems at all. The bracket for lowering or raising is sturdy with no give at all . The slots that the metal bracket goes into are also sturdy with no slippage or problems . There’s 4 slots with the lowest flat one having a slight incline. I am using the first (or lowest slot & the angle is perfectly comfortable for me. Even the next one up is fine althought quite abit higher but still fine to use. The one I had before this had many plastic parts that proceded to break right away. So I really love this one because it’s all metal with no other parts except the bracket for adjusting the height & not at all flimsy. The metal mesh flat area that the MBP sits on is strong as well. Plenty of air circulation around the laptop. No over-heating at all. Feel confident in buying this stand. I have it on my bed & sitting on the MBP box that the computer came in.Or if you also like it raised like that, you can use the box the stand comes in. The box provides a flat surface, much like a desk would. I like it raised that way. When the computer is on the stand, you can’teven see the stand because it’sthe same size as the 17” MBP. There is also a slotted cord holder that is great for keeping cords out of the way & secure. You attach it to the back of the stand , very simple. The stand is read to use of of the box Happy buying.

This is an amazing product!
We actually got two. My husband's computer gets hot all the time, to the point that it shuts down. We had previously bought some other laptop stands, some of them included a little fan underneath. They all ended in the trash. The only thing that solved this problem was this stand. The little holes on it allow the computer to breathe, not to mention that the whole thing adapts to the height you want. This is a great product for an office, you really don't get tired at the computer when you use it. Also, the quality of this product is great. This is a lifetime purchase. It is a simple but VERY useful design WAY more efficient at cooling computers and providing comfort than any other product out there. I recommend it blindly.

Rolodex Laptop Stand -- somewhat costly
I chose this stand because it was one of the few _easily_ adjustable stands available here at Amazon. It's quite hefty as far as laptop stands are, made of durable metal which by itself sets your equipment at least 2-inches off which ever surface it is used on.As for the appearance, I notice the metal-mesh frame used for holding laptops seems hastily welded to the base of the stand. While the quality is outstanding nonetheless, I can't help but think $25 is on the higher end of the price range for this product. Lighter and more portable laptop supports are available for cheaper and some more expensive brands have even USB port interfaces.I must clarify that this product has _an option_ to implement a USB/Power interface, but that is all sold separately and is merely advertised on the back of the packaging. This product comes with a rubber partition to place on the back of the base to hold up to 6 wires in place.Though for someone who simply wants something to prop up his/her equipment angled at least 2-inches or higher for better leeway for cooling, this Rolodex Laptop Stand does the job.I must also point out, finally, that this product is not very portable--being composed of durable metal and all.-----EDIT-------10/2/2008I actually found this same stand (except Rubbermaid branded) at my local Wal-mart for $16. It is not a clearance or sale price
