I'm an audio engineer- bought this to keep myself in check - it worked..
This Tadeto Decibel Meter has been both a blessing and a curse in my quest to monitor noise levels... I get bunch of complaints as an audio engineer with my mix being too loud..Anyways, its easy, its stupid, and it works! It measures the level not perfectly, but its good enoguh to get a general sense of the reading of the room. If you want something ACTUALLY accureate you would get a measurement microphone and use an actual software.. But this works for what it is, the battery lasts actually quite long. I have been using it for a month now, and I am still using the ORIGINAL batteries... so for what it is its worth it.

Decibel Reader
Good tool, the black mic cover came off in the wind and was lost immediately, I had to purchase another one for replacement! Not happy about that! Overall easy to use and read!

Accurate and consistent readings from an affordable meter. Very useful for doing product reviews.
I have been blessed to be in a position to write insightful reviews of all types of products. Many of the products that I’ve reviewed are power tools, headphones, airguns, and other things that have noise levels that may or may not affect its marketability. Besides the functioning, appearance, construction, usability, cost, convenience and other factors, when I think it’s appropriate, I will use the decibel meter to get a few decibel readings. For some consumers, the amount of noise made by certain products is irrelevant to them, while others, maybe due to sensitivity to noises, common courtesy, or HOA regulations, need to take into consideration how much noise a certain product makes. I have access to a much more expensive decibel meter and have tested them side by side, and the readings were almost exactly the same, plus or minus 1 decibel, and that’s plenty accurate enough for my use.

Multiple use tool! Used it a lot of times around the pool deck.
Great to have around the house. It’s probably one of the best on the market.

Inconsistent readings; fine for rough checks, not compliance.
The media could not be loaded. I bought this alongside two other meters to compare. Build is decent and the big windscreen helps with handling noise. Buttons are simple (A/C, FAST/SLOW, MAX).Accuracy is where it lost me. At ~85 dB the other two meters read ~84.8–85 dB while this one sat around 78–79 dB. Then at higher levels (~102–104 dB) it jumped high and showed ~107 dB. So it’s not consistently off by a fixed amount—it’s variable across the range. If you just want a rough “loud vs. not loud” check, it’s fine. For anything near a compliance threshold, I wouldn’t rely on it unless you have a calibrator and can verify it first. Nice screen, easy to use, but the readings kept me from trusting it.
