Canvas cover was nice

I received this journal as a gift, and I have to say that I would never purchase this again. The paper is nice. It's thick and takes water nicely without ruining what is on the other side. Alcohol markers and Sharpies ghost through a good bit. My complaint is with the binding. I received it broken only a smidge, but it grew and grew after one painting on the first day because the inside cover papers are a thin plastic-like paper. I wound up having to tape the first two pages to the cover to rectify it. I've had this less than a day. We'll see if it holds.

Jane Davenport art journal is wonderful

I bought mine at Michaels but wanted to give this a review here, as I think this has been a nice book for me to start drawing in. I've done a little with watercolor which it did begin to buckle with, but seems to dry out flat with no problems at all. I love the size as it's nice to take along to appointments and be able to draw in it. I recommend it for the versatility it offers in size and medium.

I would give it zero stars if I could. This item arrived with the back binding broken and the last cover page ripped. The paper is like a Canson XL quality. Not worth the cost.

This is my third watercolour journal from Jane Davenport's collection. Good size journal. The pages are offwhite with one side with tooth surface and the other smooth. I know they can be used for mixed media but to be fair for my review I only have used watercolours and inks. The signatures are well stitched in place and the pages open flat. My only concern is that the signatures are glued to the inside front and back cover flyleaves which are not strong and have split away from the cloth covered cardboard cover and I have had to stick them together with strong tape. I look forward to owning Jane Davenport's large journals. I am very happy with the journals and will continue to buy them.

I have only used a few of the pages with watercolour and it holds nicely. It is expensive but seems to be good quality. I do admit to being a Jane Davenport fan though, so probably bias. I would buy this again (and again!)

Beautifully made art journal, the paper is lovely with one side being hot pressed (textured) and cold pressed (smooth) ... I've yet to use mine as I'm still working in a bigger one but this is a good size to pop into your bag with a few art supplies and practice water colouring on the go

The Jane Davenport Journals are fabulous! I have brought and used about 10! The paper is beautiful and holds up to all the mixed media I use on it!

Love Jane's kourbsls. They have the most fabulous paper in them. This is my 3rd one
