Admittedly, after some hesitation due to cost, I ordered the large under cabinet knife block in ebony/black from The Drop Block and I am so glad I did! The item shipped fast, was packaged well, and even came with a handwritten note from the company’s owner, Susan! The coloring of the knife block we received was not quite right, and although it was still gorgeous, it would not match our cabinets. I contacted Susan and who resolved my issue immediately and we had our replacement knife block in no time! I cannot emphasize enough, if you have any concerns, please contact Susan directly. She truly cares about you, the consumer, and as counterintuitive as this may seem, has no way of contacting you through Amazon, even if you leave a product review.As for the knife block itself, it is a quality built/solid product with excellent hinges and magnets and it looks absolutely beautiful! And I am thrilled to have the extra counter space!With regard to sizing and installation, the template (provided in the box) made installation fairly easy (my husband installed it without assistance). We found it beneficial to use the full width of the provided template. That is, do not cut down the dotted lines on the sides of the template; only cut the dotted line on the 1 side that will face the back of the cabinet when it is taped underneath the cabinet. The template is the full width (left to right) of the knife block itself, so it is easier to get an idea of how the knife block will fit once installed. The large knife block measures 23 3/8 inches wide (this includes the springs on both sides; see included photo). My husband planned for 23.5 inches to be safe.I used the Drop Block photos as a guide for arranging my knifes after installation. Keep in mind that these knife blocks are designed for standard kitchen cabinets, so knife tips cannot extend much beyond the back of the block or it will hit the wall when the block is closed.Overall we LOVE this product and will probably be purchasing more as gifts!

Instructions to install were well written out. Looks nice and cleared up my counter. It fit a good quantity of knives. Magnet strength is good.

Fabulous product. I changed out the handle to more closely match our kitchen hardware (bought at Lowe's). This is the largest size and it didn't fit my full Cutco block, but it did fit all my most frequently used knives. The rest I sheathed and put in a drawer. But it looks good and freed up counter space. The magnets are crazy strong so keep your fingers away. I got pinched pretty good trying to be delicate with it.
