It’s a heavy glass jar and definitely feels like a new addition to the family! My husband and I spent quite some time looking at it and reading reviews before deciding to try it for grinding wet masalas, especially for Goan-style curries where a smooth paste really matters. The build quality is impressive—the glass body feels sturdy and premium. However, the blade is quite small, which makes grinding large quantities a bit slow. You often need to stop and push the ingredients down using a wooden spatula. When removing leftovers from the jar, it’s better to use a silicone spatula. Grinding in smaller batches works much more efficiently. It doesn’t produce a very fine paste, but rather a medium consistency. If you’re okay with that, it does the job well. We made coriander, mint, and green chilli chutney, and it turned out excellent. It’s also not very noisy, which is a plus. One important thing is that this jar needs enough liquid while grinding—you have to add it gradually for the best results. Also, handle it with care since it’s made of glass. Avoid washing it with hot water; cold water is recommended. Do not wash the underside of the blade—just wipe it with a dry tissue and let it air dry. It’s not meant for rough or heavy-duty use, but for light to moderate grinding, it performs well. I haven’t tried making smoothies in it yet. Honestly, for just £30, it turned out to be a great purchase. I’ve always trusted Philips—my parents used it, and I continue to use it. It’s a brand I rely on.

Love this blender. At the moment I'm using this blender almost every day due to my husbands medical issues. It is a little heavy due to being glass but easily manageable, it's simple to use and to assemble. It's not quiet but it's not overly noisy either. I find it very easy to clean, especially if you clean it as soon as you've finished using it. I find it blends soups and smoothies very well and it doesn't take long either. It's well built and it feels like it's going to last for years, but only time will tell.

One of the main reasons I chose it is the glass jug – I avoid plastic whenever possible, and this feels like a much better, more durable option. The jug is heavy, but that’s a sign of quality, and it’s big enough for all my needs. The blender itself looks stylish, works smoothly, and feels well made. It’s powerful, easy to use, and very easy to clean, and the two speed settings plus pulse function give good control. Overall, very pleased with the purchase – excellent value for money.
