An Excellent Outdoor Security Camera - Great Value, Easy to Install and Effective
The Galayou 2k has been an unexpectedly good outdoor security camera and has been fitted to supplement an existing - and much more expensive - camera (Netatmo Outdoor Presence). The Galayou is well made, feels pretty robust and is a doddle to install compared with the Netatmo. Instant connection with external wifi, via the well thought out App. As others have recommended, make the initial wifi connection within a few feet of the router or external aerial first and then locate the Galayou further away where required. The 2k picture quality is excellent and makes facial identity easy, and the alert system seems pretty good - early days. The Cloud storage options strike me as expensive - ranging from £60/yr for Basic up to £ 160/yr Pro, which offers longer storage and differentiation between people, cars , packages etc which might be quite useful. However, the Galayou is perfectly capable of storing info on the optional microSD card, which can be set via the App to overwrite the oldest info first when the SD is full. Max capacity using the max size 128Gb is reported to be around 2 weeks if set at SD resolution and continuous recording. As with all things, it comes down to personal preference -- and location of cameras -- how effective your system is. So -- Galayou 2k is highly recommended -- really good value at ~ £30 , very easy to setup where others can be a real faff, and just works. Customer service too, if needed for advice etc, is very quick to respond with well thought out replies, but most can be resolved by ploughing through the reviews and Q&As first. Overall an excellent buy !

Reliable cameras — this is my 6th one
This is my sixth GALAYOU camera in the house (four outside and two indoors) and they’ve all been great. The image quality is sharp, the 360° view is really useful, and the app is easy to use. They’ve been reliable in all weather and pick up motion quickly with good colour night vision. Solid security cameras for the price. I wish the cable could be detachable from the camera itself for easier routing through walls as the USB end is quite thick. I end up having to snip the wire and then solder it together again. very durable and waterproof and connectivity when being 40m away from the router with 3 brick walls in between and bushes

Superb CCTV camera with a brilliant supporting app.
This has been a fantastic investment and has offered a great deal of security and reassurance for our home. Set up is very easy - mounted to the external wall and powered by the mains supply. It connected to the home WIFI easily, and has maintained a stable connection throughout the 12 months plus we have had it installed. The smartphone app is also very user-friendly and intuitive. There is a very good value upgrade for online cloud storage, so we are able to access archived footage. It is possible to download recorded clips, which has been useful when the neighbours needed to view what happened to their vehicle. Footage is very clear at the 2k resolution, being easily able to make out facial details of people visiting the property. It is also very clear when recording sound, and the night vision is remarkable too. There is a neat feature usable through the app where you can talk to people you can see on camera. This is very clear. The camera is a good size, being visible enough but not too obtrusive. We also like that you can angle the view through a full 360 degrees, giving you a massive potential field of view. It has proved to be extremely durable, working flawlessly through rain, snow, wind and high heat. For the price, this is an absolutely fantastic security camera, with a great supporting app. It is also worth noting that customer support is brilliant - emails were replied to very quickly, and with useable and productive advice. Superb product.

Good camera for the price
It's a decent camera, the fact that you can turn it around and look where you want to look just by pressing some buttons on your phone is awesome. You can record 24/7 and view videos if you have inserted a memory card. Easy to set up, picture quality is quite good (when viewing directly from camera, not so from recorded videos when replay), and has a lot of additional options like sending a voice message through camera or switching on the LED light. I am giving it 4-stars because I ran into some problems, however the support was quite good and pro-active. One thing that bothers me is that when you replay recorded videos from your memory card as mentioned before the quality of picture is not that good, everyhing that moves (cars, people etc) is very blurry, which is not good in case of incident. Also there is a optional subscription available if you want your videos backed up in the cloud. All in all good camera for the price.

Excellent and affordable security camera! Highly recommend.
Camera is super easy to set up, connect to wifi and alter the many preferences offered to suit your needs. The app is very easy to navigate. The ability to move the camera via the app helps obtain the view you desire, allowing you to cover a set area without the need to physically move the camera itself. It’s fantastic how you can alter the motion alert perimeters to capture footage with the various recognition set, as well the retrigger interval allowing you to customise the alerts further. Setting timers for when you wish motions to be detected is another useful feature of the GALAYOU 2K camera, preventing unnecessary alerts being recorded and notified to a connected device. The intelligence tracking in the camera settings helps keep track and record moving targets to promote extra security if required. The ability to record a motion alert in either full colour or black and white is a great feature of the GALAYOU 2K, giving a wider range of choice in the footage detail you wish to view/capture/save. Two way audio is a great feature to enable communication to be established should the camera be used as a security measure for people entering or delivering packages etc to your property. Device sharing is another excellent feature enabling friends/ family to view footage and detect any security issues if you aren’t home. I’ve attached a video and photo of (without the intelligent lighting option set as it’ll spook our beautiful fox visitor!) Just illiterates how versatile the camera is to suit the footage you wish to view/save. We have since moved it to the front of our property and make use of the coloured motion alerts now. Highly recommend this camera to all those wishing to help keep their property secure, and also capture some amazing footage of wildlife!

Be warned. This security camera doesn't do what's promised.
It only records if find you've got nothing else better to do than to sit watching the live feed. I have two other cameras from two other manufacturers and they provide functionality to be able to record from replay along the cameras timeline. This camera only allows you to download selected footage from along that same timeline. But it gets worse. You are only allowed to download a certain amount of footage. And it seems to be a very small amount of footage. So you then have to break down the footage you want to download because you can't record it in the first place into pieces small enough to be able to download them instead of the block the footage you want. If there was a recording facility this wouldn't be a problem in the first place. I've contacted their technical support and what a waste of time that was. They sent messages with pleasantries about how wonderful they hope your day is and flowers but then they criticize you for the length of your email when it's got lots of details in relation to the problems you've got so that they can help you with those problems. So rather than looking at the details of the problems to try and help resolve them to provide answers to the problems instead they just look at the length of the email and criticize it and then blame the author of the email for not being able to sort the problem because apparently it's not clear what the problem is. That's just an excuse for not being able to do what is required. Which in this case is to provide a recording function for when you are reviewing footage the feature they call replay. The recording facility is available within the app but only when you are looking at live feed. How many people are going to be sat looking at live feed to then know to record live feed as it's needed? By the time somebody realizes they need to record something that's live it's already happened or they've missed the start of what it is that they want or need to record. Considering this is a security camera and there is a good possibility that the footage needed will be required to prosecute somebody for breaking the Law it's astonishing and I am bewildered at the fact that this company doesn't provide this recording facility within the app and rather than dealing with this by either sorting the appal so that it does provide this facility in replay they have instead evaded the issue within the email I sent and instead focused on the length of the email effectively blaming me for them not being able to sort the problem out to even identify what the problem is because my email was so long. I'm an engineer and I've been one for over 40 years I deal with details. The more details the better. Because that's information that helps me identify a problem and hopefully then I gather more information more details to then be able to find solutions to those problems. I'm dealing with a technical support department who doesn't want me to provide details of problems they have criticized me for doing so and blamed me for them not being able to sort problems out because apparently I haven't highlighted what the problems actually are. Correction the problem because according to the person I've been dealing with there can be only one problem or one problem at a time to be dealt with. I would rather provide too much information when I am dealing with people in written former than to provide two little information and then for them to not understand what the problem is and then to waste more time going backwards and forwards adding more information as time is wasted rather than providing it all at the start when it's all available at that point so why would I waste time providing bits and pieces of information when I have it all with me in the first instance to be provided all at once to provide as full a picture as possible of several not just one problem and these problems being linked to each other. I had to ask for an instruction manual and that manual was very basic it didn't deal with the problems I was asking to be solved and then to add insult to injury at the back of the manual it asks me to tell the company what I think and I talked that to mean what I think of the manual and the way the item works or doesn't work as it should. As well as being my way of providing information to help the support people to find solutions to the problems I had to inform them of which I shouldn't have had to inform them of because this stuff is basic when you're dealing with a security camera or a CCTV camera. So it's my view that they are already aware of these issues and either don't want to or count deal with them to solve them. Buy focusing on criticising me for the the length of my email to them rather than focusing on the information I provided within the email they have chosen to distract attention away from the problems I highlighted and presented to them so that it's then about me and how I am the reason why they don't understand what the problems are to be able to help me with them. That's known as gas lighting. It's a very cynical way to run a company and a business. Having been a manager and being in business myself and having advised businesses over the years I know that this is a very short-term way of looking at things but then if we are dealing with companies in China they have a very different way of doing things so this to them may be the right way for them to do business. Sell cheap sell as many as you can and then go out of business and people are left with devices that don't work properly and where there's no support for them. Because the company no longer exists or it's changed its name in which case it's changed its name so doesn't exist for the people who've bought these devices. So I'm going to contact Amazon now to try and get my money back for this device because it certainly doesn't do what it's supposed to do. It's supposed to be a security camera and as it's a security camera I should be able to not just view live feed I should be able to review previous recorded footage as I have set it to record to my SD card 24/7 and then when I replay the footage I should then be able to select which bit I want to record so then use for things like preserving evidence of a crime. I can't do that with this device. It doesn't allow me to record from playback from replay and it's downloaded facility doesn't work unless you download less than a certain amount of footage at once and the instructions do not tell you what that limit is and the message given to me I couldn't read it because part of it was missing the part that would tell me how much over the limit I was and why I needed to do in order to preserve this footage as evidence going forward. It looks good it looks the part but you can buy dummy cameras that do the same thing for far less. My advice do not buy this unless you are accepting of these failings. I'll give it zero stars because all of the experience I've had after purchasing this device and trying to use it as meant a complete and utter waste of much of my valuable time to end up finding out that this device is not as described and is not in my view fit for purpose. As other reviewers have pointed out it doesn't record where you need it to record. Other manufacturers devices (which I have in use) do this so there is no excuse for not providing that function in replay. And whilst I initially through trial and error thought I had discovered that there was just a terminology issue that I could use their download facility for replay of footage to save it and preserve evidence as the screenshot shows you're limited to how much you can download. And the message doesn't even show you how much footage you are limited to downloading. This is not acceptable. It's wasted lots of my time. Trying to give this company the benefit of the doubt and the perhaps it wasmy fault not understanding how the device works. In the instructions provided online to me from their support department it does mention other apps you can use so if you are one of these people who are aware of these other apps and are happy to use them with this device then you might be happy with what you get when you get this device. I've never come across these apps before and I don't want to waste any more time downloading them trying to set them up with this camera to then find out if they provide the facility to record in replay or if I would have the same problem with them as I've got with this manufacturers supplied app. I hope people will find this useful. And not unnecessarily long.

Fantastic CCTV camera
This CCTV is outstanding value and provides the same functionality as far more expensive cameras. It is well made, has a great picture and pairs easily with the App. (which is also very good) I would highly recommend it.

Good camera; poor integration with Alexa
I first installed this camera in the back yard, and it was easy to set up. The Wansview app is also very good, and can be installed on a PC, which I liked very much. The installation was fairly straightforward, although I had to feed the USB cable through a double-brick wall, which was not easy. However, once fitted, it worked well for a few days. I could pick the video feed up on my Facebook Portal and my Echo Show 5. Also, the video would show on my PC Alexa app, but only though a spoken request. Alexa on my PC did not recognise the Y4 as a camera in the Devices section (I installed the app on Windows 10 and 11, and on 3 laptops and a PC base unit, so any issues with PC compatibility were eliminated) A short while after installation, the camera would cease to function, and I had to unplug the USB cable to reset it. It also stopped working with my FB Portal. Later, it stopped working with my Echo Show 5. I had to exchange the Echo Show 5 to an Echo Show 8, and it would not work with it. Then it stopped working with the PC Alexa app. I decided to install it in a new position to give it a really good wi-fi signal, so that was done. It was sited in the garage, which is fairly close to the router. Still no integration with Alexa, but at least the signal did not drop out, and I could view the video on my PC and phone without much trouble. I contacted Wansview, and they were most helpful, but could not solve the issues. They put the problems down to heavy router traffic, which I accepted until I bought an Imou camera for the back yard. Yes, the Imou also had drop-out problems at first, but I installed a signal booster and they went away. I reinstalled the Y4 to this booster, but the problems remained, so I sent the Y4 back to Amazon. It's a very good camera when used as a Stand-Alone unit, but if you want integration with your Smart Home, I would look elsewhere. I would have given less than 3 stars, but in all honesty, the camera is a bargain at the price, considering the picture quality and the after-sales service.
