Fun to use, holds edge, bolster doesn't interfere with sharpening, unboxing was amusing.
I consider knives tools, and as such they tend to take a beating, so I rarely spend a lot of money on them.Recently I lost almost all my knives, and had to replace them. I spent a long time researching options, and finally settled on this for my chef's knife. So far it has been holding an edge very well without stropping or honing.I like the fact that the bolster doesn't have the finger guard extension which can interfere with sharpening, though I haven't needed to sharpen it yet. It's light, sturdy, and comfortable in my hand. It's one of the best knives I've used. One thing I particularly like is how easy it is to clean. A quick rinse usually does it, only needing soap after cutting meats or fatty substances. The box it came in included a branded bandage, which I thought was amusing. Shortly after opening it I managed to cut myself, but I opted to keep the Made In brand bandage in the box and went with a standard Band-Aid brand bandage.

A cut above the rest
Made In knives are truly a cut above the rest. The olive wood handles are not only stunning but also elevate the knives to a whole new level of elegance. Having previously used Wüsthof knives, I can confidently say that Made In knives are the sharpest out of the box that I've ever owned. They effortlessly slice through meat, fruits, veggies, and cheese like butter, showcasing impeccable craftsmanship and attention to detail. These knives are clearly meticulously crafted, not just churned out in a factory, making them a standout choice for anyone who values quality and precision in their kitchen tools.

This is one of the BEST tools I own!
So happy with this purchase. I've been wanting a quality chefs knife and this really hits all the marks. Well balanced, full tang, super sharp! This will be something I'm sure I will pass on to my kids one day.

Good general purpose kitchen knife
I got this knife to be my “every day driver” knife. I have a really good Shun Classic for when I’m doing something fancy, and a department store grade knife for anything I don’t want to use my “better” knives for.The fit and finish on the Made In is very good. The handle is comfortable, no issues with grip. No sharp corner edges on the spine – I’ve had that happen with other knives, sharp enough to draw blood. It is balanced well and thin enough to work well. I prefer thinner knives, I rarely do anything that needs a more robust blade. It has noticeably more “belly” or curvature to it than my other chef’s knives which is fine – my intent is to use this for rocking cuts and one of my Santokus for chopping. Overall very pleased with it.One modest and one slight gripe with it. The modest gripe is that it came just barely sharp. It was at a sharpness that when my other knives get to that point is when I pull out the whetstones and sharpen them. A few minutes working up from 400 to 3000 and it was ready to go. I’ve read other reviews that noted their knives came needing to be sharpened. Note, I bought a Made In Santoku at the same time as this. It also came in need of sharpening work. Apparently this is a quality control issue that Made In needs to figure out. The slight gripe is that the Made In logo on the blade is raised, and when I’m washing it the cloth catches on this and I keep thinking there is something stuck on the blade that needs to be scrubbed off. A more subtle logo would be nice.

Amazing quality.
Purchased this for my daughter’s bday gift. She’s been taking cooking classes and told me this was the best gift she’s ever received. The packaging is great and comes with a bandaid. Such a great sense of humor to add to the package!!

Sharp and balanced
This knife is sharp, long and balanced. Use it for sharp cutting but use an older knife for cutting through bones to keep blade perfect. Bandage included in box.
