Maelstrom unisex-adult Daypack Backpacks hiking backpack

This is a good all around daypack you can use for hiking, camping, climbing, or travel for short trips.We used this to go to the mountains and do outdoor climbing. So I packed it with our belts, shoes, belays, glasses. The bottom ties would hold our climbing rope but I didn't like having that weight down at the bottom of the pack. We also had a light change of clothes and rain poncho packed in. Then add 2 - 24oz water bottles ticked into the side pockets. Keys and phone stuffed into the top. Made for a fairly heavy pack.I had no problems humping it up and down even where we had to travers some ugly rock ledges to get our climbing spot. The strapping helps keep the load even and balances the pressure on your back well. It got slung around and dumped on the ground several times. When we got back to the campsite it was fine and cleaned off easily. Did not get to test it for water resistance. Fortunately our day was clear.Well worth the $40 I spent on it. It would also make a nice travel pack for a weekend trip by car or air.

Gave this backpack to my daughter for our trip to Yellowstone. She easily packed all her belongings into it. She unloaded her clothes into the rental unit and used the pack for our day hikes and was able to comfortably carry both of our multiple water bottles, binoculars, food and supplies. The backpack performed marvelously. Recommend this product as it's a good value.
