Velpro Mesh Pet Shoulder Harness Collar, 15"-16", Black

Very nice construction and very true to size. I admittedly was reluctant to order a size medium for a ten pound Shih Tzu, Yorkshire Terrier mix or Shorky as they are called. Her chest measurment was almost perfectly in between the small and medium sizes. Exactly 14" so I elected to go with the medium. The medium is perfect if you position it as tight as possible and has two inches to grow into. It is tight enough that she can't get out. Buying the correct pet harness and accessories is one of the most excruciating tasks. I hope this helps somewhat. The quality of the harness is very good. The material is stiff and the velcro is strong. The stitching is quality and I don't foresee any problems. The stiffness goes away, I simply hand washed quickly and it's now much better.

This is the best harness I’ve ever had for my little shih tzu fur babies. This one is for our medium size poodle mix and so far is working fine. Very easy to put on the dogs.

Size medium fits my 9-lb Affenpinscher but is a close fit. It's the best harness I've found for him as it fits lower on his chest and avoids his throat completely, which is what I was looking for. Kind of expensive for the size of the item but I'm glad to this style is available.

Got these for our 2 house cats to use in case of emergency. They get stressed and squirmy when trying to put them in neck collars or generic harnesses. These are very quick and easy to put on our ‘non-cooperative’ girls :) The material is very soft and cushiony and they tolerate them surprisingly well. The seller was a dream to work with. We weren’t sure of their sizes so we ordered 2 sizes for each to try and easily returned the 2 that didn’t fit. My only ‘complaint’ is that the seller doesn’t offer leashes in different widths/lengths to match their pretty harness colors. I searched all of Amazon and got the closest I could find but they still don’t match well :(

I picked up a pair of Pekingese puppies last week. I love the ChokeFree harnesses, but the leather ones are a bit expensive. Since I know the puppies will grow a lot over the next couple months, I decided to save some money and ordered a couple of the velpro mesh harnesses. I have to say I was underwhelmed by the Mesh version of the ChokeFree harness. The look and light weight are fine. The fit was a different story. They are very snug! I recommend going up at least 1 size. The slot through which you put the D-ring is very small and does not have much give. Trying to get the d-ring through the slot with a tag of any sort is simply frustrating! Once it is on, it fits the puppy well. If the ChokeFree design team would true-up the sizing and improve the d-ring slot, I would be willing to try them again. I really want to like the mesh version as much as I do the leather version. I cannot do that with the current iteration.

I bought this harness because my dog has trachea collapse. It did not touch his neck or cause him to cough. He did, however, slip out of it. I made sure it was on securely and the fit was snug and the vecro was secure. It's easy to get on and off.
