Brake is anemic.
I bought this bike because it is versatile, convertible from a pedal-less balance bike to one with pedals that does not have a coaster brake. Coaster brakes are terrible for kids learning to pedal and should be avoided with extreme prejudice. So, this fits that bill and overall it's OK and can be switched back and forth easily. The design is not great though and the lowest seat height is not as low as my older son's 16" bike, which is the Guardian Bikes 16" wheel size. It is likely that the seat is so bulky on this bike, so swapping it out with a better designed seat would probably fix that.On the other hand the brake is weird in a couple of ways, one it's totally inadequate for actually stopping the bike, even when adjusted to maximize braking power. Oddly enough, it's also mounted on the wrong side for a rear brake in the USA, the left side. In the USA the right hand controls the rear brake, but this bike has the brake mounted on the left side.I don't think I'd recommend it, and would probably suggest finding something else. I'd probably go with what I did for my older son again, buy a better bike that's well designed for kids and leave the pedals off so he could use that as a push bike and then later on put the pedals on for him to learn pedaling. I used the Guardian Bikes 16" the first time.

About the Sizing of the 16" Bike
A quick note about the sizing of the 16" Bike. I bought this for my son who is 41.5" tall and has a 18" inseam. With the seat all the way to the bottom, it is just barely too big. If he had a few more inches on him, it would be perfect. I think by the spring, it will be the right size for him to grow into. We went ahead and also ordered the 14" bike... He can ride that one until it gets too cold. Next spring, his younger brother will probably upgrade to the 14" one and my older son will go up to the 16". ---- Other notes: It was super easy to put together. It comes with all the tools needed, but I found it easier to use my own socket set. It comes with a basic plastic air pump -- I tried it out to see what it was like. It gets the job done, but I preferred using my own foot pump. The pedal system is pretty clever - it is very easy to switch from a kick/balance bike to a full-on pedal bike. The bike seems sturdy and well made. I was so happy with it, I bought two of them!

The budget Woom2!
The media could not be loaded. My 3.5 year old toddler moved from a smaller balance bike to this because this bike enabled me to to back and fourth from pedals to balance bike in a few minutes. He learned how to pedal in about 1 week. The bikes design is poor however, it started rusting and the design doesn’t really fit a child’s body all that well. The pedals and base are too high and the kick stand sticks out too much causing my son to trip several times. The brake mechanism didn’t stop the bike at all that well. If you try to adjust it, it introduces too much fiction to the back wheels causing the rider to have to work harder. Toddlers get tired quick!

Stripped easily.
Stripped the hex bolts and can't get the pedals on because the threading is chewed up.I need a replacement pedal part.

Don’t bother
This bike is great. If it came with all the parts needed. Two separate ones now both missing essential piece to make the handlebars even work.No way to get in touch with the company either….so if I were I say anything I would say great concept but a miss in quality
