Good movie
I've always liked Brittany Murphy in most of the movies she played it. She was a good actress. Watching her story from beginning to end broke my heart. This was a good movie. Especially if you like her.

This movie was done beautifully. It was really hard to
This movie was done beautifully. It was really hard to watch though knowing that in the end Brittany would pass along with her husband. It was nice to see the entire story.

Shocking aspects of her life are portrayed in this movie.
The actress who plays Brittany in this movie did a good job but she doesn't do justice to the real Brittany. Brittany had a unique sparkle, a very special quality that only Meg Ryan & Goldie Hawn share with her. She is pure magic & I she is greatly missed by all who love her.

Brittany Murphy was a talented amazing (tinny little) actress...
But what was Lifetime thinking? Why did they choose this older, voluptuous actress who didn't even resemble Brittany? Realistically Brittany was like a tiny little waif compared to this woman in the movie and if they stood side by side, Brittany probably could have easily played this plus-sized actresses' daughter...perhaps that would have made Sherlyn Fenn their wise, older neighbor. Truth be told, Fenn's acting was the only redeeming element of this biopic. Honestly, those early scenes in the film that compare Murphy's supposed child-hood friend against the rubanesque woman playing a pre-teen Murphy were like a Saturday-Night Live skit. To make matters worse, the producers scripted a fake weight problem for poor Brittany into this film to explain the fact that they mis-cast this older, plus-sized actress. It's no secret that Murphy suffered from body image issues but 90% of the men and women in LA suffer with body image issues...it's impossible not to, but that's no excuse to invent a phony weight problem as a cover for poor casting. The ultimate confusion however, was this actress choice to base her characterization for Brittany in this movie on Murphy's character in Clueless. She was made up to look that way, the wardrobe and the vocalization were spot-on Murphy's Clueless character. Just a little effort on some minor research on Murphy's body of work and her live interviews could have easily prevented this project from resembling a well-produced drag queen impersonation. I'm not at al sure how or why Sherlyn Fenn became attached but for whatever reason it was a bright spot in this clown circus. Fenn brought her trademark warmth and empathy to tell an important story beeween a mother and a daughter. Murphy was beautiful and dynamic and hugely talented, she leaves behind a broad spectrum of work celebrating the struggles of the human condition and the urgent desire to remain connected in a huge world full of strangers who live as close as your next door neighbor. Had she survived I think she was destined for a brilliant and full career based on everything she accomplished in her short, young (skinney) life.
