Not light oak!
This is not light oak! Tested an area that will be under my fridge & can’t believe how dark it is. My kitchen units are light oak & this finish is way, way darker.I contacted the company & have been told this was an application issue. Maybe they are right but the new one I purchased (different make, also light oak) was applied exactly the same & is actually a light oak colour!I can’t comment on how hard wearing it is, but I can say if you have sanded the floors yourself make sure there is no trace of the old varnish/finish as this covers differently & looks patchy. It wasn’t so noticeable with the second wax oil I purchased.

Best floor oil ever
I tested this product on a spare piece of oak flooring before I used it, and tested two other oils as well by other makers. I dripped water and olive oil on the test piece (as our kitchen has the floor covered in solid oak.) On other products the water left marks and the oil penetrated the flooring. This hard wax oil was brilliant, the water and olive oil just sat on it and after half an hour I just wiped it off. After sanding flooring back to bear wood using 120 grit, I painted this on. Dried in four hours, second coat on. It looks fantastic and gives off a dull sheen. Others despite saying they were satin finish, looked like gloss. I can highly recommend this product.

Easy!
I bought the English Oak wax oil and I love the colour. I've only used it on an offcut of pine for now but I'm really happy with how it came out. I've only done one coat using a foam roller, not sure if I will do a second coat as it already looks good.

Completely wrong colour.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Fully water proof but ordered natural oak and although the tin says natural oak which has been placed over a sticker that says clear. My work tops are now a horrible orange colour. It’s gonna be hard work to get it off. It lightened slightly once dry but look a ridiculous colour.I can presume they got a batch of clear cheap and have added their own colours and have either stuck wrong labels on or needed to get rid of the mahoganyish colours. Gutted. Go buy from a diy store that you can easily return to if it’s wrong.

Make sure you test an area first
Easy to use but colour (light oak) was darker, more orange, than expected.

Quality
A good finish - cost a bit more than other finishes
