Good value.
There’s just something beautiful about a well made precision instrument with this much attention to detail and finish. You can’t resist touching it. The fluid drag on the panning movement and the adjustable drag on the ball joint are excellent. I like the way that the fine tune knob nests within the gross tune. The Arca Swiss style plate is 2.75” long and the slot for the screw is 1” so you could find a neutral balance with a short lens. There’s 20mm of calibration that might prove useful if you mount a long plate to balance out heavy glass. It’s not as heavy as it looks. The ball is huge but hollow. Comes with nice neoprene carrying bag.Photos show comparison with Manfrotto 484RC2 and 502 Fluid head. It will be mounted on an Artcise 75mm bowl tripod when I don’t want to carry the huge video head.

Solid Design
All good, this is a solid tripod head. I've tested it using large heavy astronomy binoculars and light weight long spotting scopes. Tightens securely, rotates smoothly. Good quality machining, matte finish is smooth and even. Knobs are well made, tighten evenly, not slippy or needing to be constantly retightened and loosen easily for repositioning. Their position on the head makes them easy to access, easy to use without fumbling. Texture is easy to feel, gives good grip with bare hands and gloves. How long will it last? For my uses, it may be the last tripod head I have to purchase ...it's a pleasure to use and no regrets on the purchase. There are probably better ones intended for higher end users and demanding professionals but for a 'hobbyist' it works just fine and fulfills my needs for utility, quality and price.Caveat, get a good sturdy tripod, not some flimsy light weight aluminum stand intended for indoor use and light weight camera formats and this tripod head will really shine. If it was lost, I would buy it again. I do not think it will break with normal use and should last indefinitely with care and regular cleaning which will amount to wiping off dirt and dust and making sure the ball is clean, taking care to keep it clean.

Only one minor flaw
Very sturdy. Only minus is you can’t set drag on the bases rotation. It has spots in its motion where it binds. Note, it’s ONLY if you want to have some resistance. Spinning freely works smoothly.

Works Perfectly To Hold Air Rifle With Arca Swiss Rail
This low profile ball head allowed me to replace the clamp-type jaw on my BogPod tripod. I’m sure the clamp-type jaw that comes with this tripod works well for some users but it didn’t work at all for me and my heavy FX air rifle. My concern was the connection to my rifle was never very secure and dropping the rifle and scope to the ground from four feet up wouldn’t end well. This ball turret bolts directly to the top of the tripod with just a little fiddling. If you have just a little mechanical ability you can attach this to your tripod. It clamps securely to the Arca Swiss Rail fitted to the bottom of my air rifle and didn’t add additional weight to the tripod. The design allows fitment of a heavy air rifle to this heavy tripod. I don’t understand why this wasn’t an option when I purchased this tripod but when I checked with the retailer recently, it still was not an option for this particular tripod.
