The first ones were made in China. Those were the SA500 (black nylon grip), SAMIL600 (black nylon grip with Milwaukee saw blade), and the SA700 (grey aluminum grip) models and were referred to as the "Survival Axe" (nylon grip) and "Survival Axe Pro" (aluminum grip). The new ones are made in the USA. These are the SA100 (black nylon grip) and the SA110 (green nylon grip) and are referred to as the "Survival Axe Elite". The elite survival axe (USA) is usually about $10 more expensive. There is also apparently an aluminum-gripped "Survival Axe Elite Pro" that is only available on their Off Grid Tools Pro website, but it is only available as a value bundle item that comes with one of the sheath options and is currently the most expensive option at $105 to $110 (as of 5/5/21). It took me a long time to figure this all out. I hope this helps.
