Good value
The flashlights are exactly as described, no unpleasant surprises. I'm a big fan of simple on/off switches - I hate having to click through 4 or more modes every time I want light, and as promised, these flashlights came with the simple on off switch I wanted. I'm not a fan of manually focusing the light beam, I'd happily trade for a sleeker flashlight. But I knew what I was getting and the function works as promised. I've had these for a month now and their size is convenient enough to drop in a pocket and bring along when outside after dark. Definitely a good value, now let's see how they hold up, with the simple switch, I have high hopes.

Bright and Handy
Very bright and just the right size for jeans pocket. I am getting older and I find I need more light in more and more places. This was very bright and I especially like the simple switch on and off. I have several flashlights that are more complicated and I have to turn off several modes before it go off.

The truth is you should just buy Skysted
I felt the need to write this review as kind of a final straw. The A300s are good flashlights. I will stick to that first, but I'd like to say something about Skysted after, so stay tuned if you want good info.A guy I work with bought a 5-6 pack of similar flashlights for use for his crew at work. I'm quite certain that from the photos you could not tell them apart from these. However, having them both in hand, I can tell you its the little things that matter. The ones he bought had a single o-ring on the buttcap. These have an o-ring on the cap, the lense, and though I didn't break it apart, I'm pretty sure it also has a third o-ring on the focusing slide. Most of these types of flashlights always have 3, 5, or even 7 light modes. These are just 1, plain and simple. They get a little warm being on for long periods, but they are circuited just right to stay on at the highest brightness that doesn't kill the bulb with continuous use (more to say on that later). The flashlight will stand happily on its butt cap for use like a candle aimed at the ceiling, but the surface does have to be fairly level to do so. I don't think you'd be happy trying to balance on the floor of a tent without assistance. All in all, if this is the style of light you are looking for, then this is the one to get.Next, my opinion of Skysted. I work in a factory, and when working on, above, under, inside of machines, lighting is always an issue. I started buying the usual maglites, hat brimmed toy like travesties, any flashlight I could get my hands on in the regular box stores. Finally, I had enough and started looking for tactical style lights. I didn't want to spend a lot of my own money on work only tools, so I started with the cheaper range of these. $100+ flashlights just weren't possible as an experiment. So I ordered an ultrafire 501 style. I loved it the shape, but the multimodes were just a nuissance for me. I tried one with memory buttons, but it still never seemed to work right. So I kept searching. Trying new bulbs, new labels (surefire, etc). My coworker saw these and like them too, so we bought more for him and his father too, and then some other peeps. My bulbs would burn out sometimes, so I started ordering them from arizona tactical... they had good bulbs, but twice I got styles that were slight different in length and wouldn't fit. Then the buttons started wearing though and I the price of the bulbs was only slightly cheaper then buying the whole flashlight, so we kept buying some more. Then once I did a search and the found a single mode 501 from Skysted. It was the same light in your hand at first appearance... but SOOOOOO not the same. True single mode with no confusion. Complete o-rings and professionally soldered bulbs, clearer plastic, etc. I realized, this was exactly what I wanted. Then we had someone who wanted to replace their 502 style with the skysted one. Same thing. Night and day simple difference. I'm in no way affiliated with any flashlight company or component. I'm just sincerely hoping to help you. If you want a single mode flashlight that just works... and dots all the "i"s and crosses all the "t"s.... just buy Skysted. Save yourself the time and money that I spent. Also, don't skimp on the batteries, they will cost more than the light if you get the 14500s for these A300s or the 18650s for the 501 and 502. There is a difference in the way these battery types drain compared to AA and AAA combinations. (Simply put, the AA and AAA configurations get consistently dimmer from the moment you turn them on, kind of an even slop downward in power. The 14500 and 18650 type drain more like an even plateau that stays consistent in brightness, then dies suddenly at the end of battery cycle, ready to charge again). I've personally had great luck with Orbtronic batteries, but I loved the Nitecore chargers (the older simple LED models), so I switch to Nitecore batteries too for simplicity, and I've been very happy. I hope this helps you. Good luck.

Very high defect rate
The media could not be loaded. Ordered the two-pack August 3, 2023. Within a week or two, one of the lights went weirdly intermittent in response to turning it on. If not used for a while, click button, comes right on. Turn it off and back on? Plan on waiting five seconds to two minutes for the light to come on in response.Emailed vendor. They offered full refund so I could buy two more. (which I appreciate, and why this is two stars instead of one) Did so Aug 29, arrive Aug 31. Last night, one of the two lights began doing exactly the same thing - on first use, light comes on instantly when you press button. Turn it off, then turn it back on within a few seconds or a few minutes? Good luck.It is very 'predictable' in this bizarre behavior, almost like there is a tiny defective logic controller within it that thinks it should not come back on immediately (but there's no need for a logic controller in such a device). Button press/release on a working one and defective one sounds exactly the same. It's one of the weirdest malfunctions I've seen.See video.

Amazing for the Price
Definitely the advertised 300 lumens when using an EBL 14500 cell. They're one mode on and off so no annoying strobes or brightness changes. The spot light gets very fine and will shine across a farm field or two easily. The wide angle is still fairly focused and not great for lighting up a large area, but will be very bright over about a 4-6 foot area at 10-20 feet away. Its much better suited to being a spotlight than a walking around or work light for working on cars or under houses because it's blindingly bright. It could be good to keep as an emergency light in a car or take with you as an extra. The beam gets so focused it actually shines farther than some of my more expensive lights, and I think it would work good as a deer spotter or a light for shining out in your yard when there's a bump in the night.

SMALL. BRIGHT. LIGHT WEIGHT. ON-OFF.
These little lightweight babies are my go-everywhere emergency lights. I live in the boonies and power outages are frequent and unannounced. I have one of these in every vest, every jacket, jeans pockets, barn, garage, etc. And they are great when you can't see into the back of the drawer or the closet or under wherever.On-Off. Perfect - I don't need or want or like strobe. And can use the common AA battery.Bright. Reliable. Adjustable beam. Affordable. Highly recommend. Get them while you still can.

Descent flashlight
For the price I paid, I found a flashlight bright enough to walk the dog at night, but not too bulky for my coat pocket. I like that it only takes 1 AA battery for the brightness it emanates. I do wish it had a strobe function, just in case for use in an altercation while walking my dog.
